I've played 5 times as Italy , every time I destroyed the whole Allied fleet and took most of USSR but I still can't win because Germany has 10 million ( 10 MILLLION ) death in 1941-1942 compared to 4 million of soviets ( mostly caused by me ). For all these games, Germany never had a death toll lower than USSR. In one game AI was so retarded that It had 2 millions deaths caused by France

How this even possible for AI to loose every single game as Germany? It keeps on attacking until there is no men to fight, it looses the battle, but never gives up....

Not long ago many people complained that AI Germany is way to strong and rolls over everyone. Seems the balance has changed a bit.

In historical Germany should lose every game. Except a player helping them to win.

It keeps on attacking until there is no men to fight, it looses the battle, but never gives up....
Yep. That sounds like Endsieg.

Your next question may be how to help them out as Italy.
  • Guard all coast of Europe and make sure there is not a single naval invasion that makes Germany pull troops from Russia.
  • Make sure there is green air everywhere Germany is attacking.
  • Secure Suez (and Gibraltar if possible) for trade routes and for lowering danger from the Allies
  • Fight the Soviet Union. Do encirclements, do attacks that require them to move troops.

Or as an alternative: Don't ally with germany, wait until the are weak when fighting against the Soviet Union, stab them in the back, annex Germany and defeat the Soviet Union alone.

Yes, Germany is weak now. I started a game as the Soviet Union, built forts near Kharkov-Kursk-Smolensk-Estonia(river).

I used only historical divisions, no gamey stuff. They never reached my fort line .... in the very beginning they did push me and even encircled a few infantry divisions. Then I moved in my Armor and started chopping them down.

I had 90% intel on them so I checked, and found out they had only 3 armor divisions .... not sure what happened. Maybe they died in Africa or something and the AI never builds more if some are killed? Or they checked that I have tons of AT and gave up on tanks? I wonder if I wasted IC building AT for my historical divisions, because I was losing tons of it even though I wasn't fighting any tanks. Annoying that equipment losses punishes varied divisions.

At this point I could push them at will with my 9 armor divisions. I had a further 9 armor divisions resting in Moscow but never used them, because it was easy as it was. Gave up on the game.

Now I am playing Italy on Veteran, let's see. I wonder: why didn't you send Tanks to help Germany vs Soviets?

dunno what you mean by that , but ai doing headsmash its armies nonstop vs your digged in wall is a horrible one
they dont even stop attacking when losing 1:10 or worse ratio and has 0 chance breaking throu
Well, Kursk, Stalingrad, battle of the bulge, El Alamein where similar in result and that was the actual Wehrmacht High Command planning those.
I snarkily remarked that a horrible AI well simulates actual history.

no it does not , first the ai does this all throu the frontline not just in a strategic area
histroically those attack were not vs superiorly defended positions and when it was clear they cant advance well the attacks were called off
stalingrad nearly fell if not for the soviet counter attack and encirclement

You are right of course. The AI is horrible and the game is no challenge for that reason.
However, needlessly throwing away lives in hopeless endeavours vs superior enemies due to a lack of common sense, Well, that's Mr Hilter for you...

Yes, he needlessly threw lives away by starting ww2, but not by ordering hopeless attacks. Different things.

Not even in Stalingrad it was a question of hopeless attacks. They were simply encircled / out-classed / out-smarted. The encirclement closed in 4 days. There was no way to prevent it once it already started, because it was simply too fast.

Not just AI Hitler does it but pretty much all of them.
the sad part is , that you think about all the cool tactics you want to use to defeat a mighty opponent then you can throw all of them out cause it just kills itself
or if your ally ai just suicides within 6 months is a bummer too, no epic war just dumb ai

Expert AI mod tends to mitigate the problem somewhat.

They tried to tone down German AI in 1.9.1 I think? because it was too powerful but just broke it further and became a joke. Now they're so gimped that they fall in 1943 already by the AI.
