So I succesfully execute the new BudgetMonk Byzantium strategy, leaving the Ottomans with most of Bulgaria as an enclave to let your own rebels loose in. The Ottomans declare on Wallachia, and both parties ask me for military access. I say no. The war drags on for years, Wallachia must've gotten max ticking warscore cause they got almost 50 from just occupying Bulgaria. Meanwhile the Bulgarian rebels and Wallachian troops are dancing around so the rebels only occupy 1-2 provinces at a time. I don't mind cause I know they will break free when Wallachia peaces out. But then I see Ottoman troops crossing the strait into my lands and I check and it says Wallachia has access to my lands. I had not given them this access yet the game forced it onto me. I'm guessing it happens automatically after the war has dragged on for long enough.

is this a known phenomenon?

No they won't get military access to your lands after some time (at least that's not supposed to happen).

Did you give military access to any other participant in that so that the Ottomans would get conditional military access?

Another possibility would be that someone asked you and you missed the message and the game counted that as acceptance (some diplomatic offers are counted as acceptance I think or this might be a bug then).

I would say check who is in the war and who has military access. If that doesn't explain it repost it in the bug report forum.

Nope, absolutely nobody!

Is Athens still your vassal? Vassals can be a pain in granting MA against your will.
They were, but they did not grant military access either. And even if they did it wouldn't matter.

Did you check the Ottomans' or Wallachia's diplo screen to see where do they have access? It doesn't happen just out of the blue, there must be an explanation you've overlooked.
