So after spawning with 10k troops in a revolt, the ai formed Ireland, okay fine. The problem is that it wont allow me or anyone else to nominate anyone other than ourselves, meaning it just defaults to the ruler's pick. Is there a fix for this?
I get I dont qualify to be the tanist but I dont even have any options to choose a tanist. When I select the list for nominees the list is completely empty and currently the tanistry is functioning more like primogeniture.Does the Kingdom of Ireland actually have Tanistry as a inheritance Law? If so are you the same Dynasty as the creator of Ireland?
My guess is that you are not of the same Dynasty because the 10k troops sound like a "Liberator Event". In Tanistry ONLY members of the ruling Dynasty are allowed to be candidates.
My guess is that your character qualifies ad an elector(Hold a county level or above title in De Jure Kingdom even if outside of De Facto realm of King of Ireland).......but you are not a qualified candidate for Tanist/Heir.
The problem won't be fixed until AI creator/ruler has children of his Dynasty that are eligible to be ruler of Ireland.
We are four generations in now. he has several children, and an established extended family. And even if that wheren't the case, the nomination screen should still allow me to select his heir.Because right now there are NO ELIGIBLE Heirs available.......because AI Creator just founded a Dynasty and he is sole member! or only has one eligible heir so it seems like primogeniture.
I could be wrong (I have very little experience playing as a vassal), but I was under the impression that when you're an elector (either with elective monarchy or tanistry) that you don't actually get to pick who to vote for yourself--the AI does it for you. Which I will admit seems like a crappy mechanic.

For the council's matters yes, like changing the law, declaring a war etc, but for the succession you get a manual vote.
Alright thanks. In that case.......upload the save (if it isn't ironman) to the Bugs forum.....so the QA and programmers can look at it and hopefully find the bug.
Because I played a game in Ireland after RD came out and had no problems with Tanistry.
You get a pop up if you are a councilmember for law votes, decs of war, etc. IF you aren't under the effect of a support council Favor action. The pop up gives 3 options: Yea, Nay, Abstain.
