I have a group of countries (approx 3-5) that I want to fight amongst themselves, ending with one country in control of the area. Can I use only 1 ai file for all ? Will having the home country's tag in the expansion line screw up the ai because the ai would try to attack itself ? Or does the ai ignore it's tag in the expansion line of the ai file?

The AI won't attack itself, so having its own tag in the expansion line won't affect anything adversely. In fact the game already uses this by having FRA in the expansion line of france.ai and using the same file for FPR and FUC.
