They do it a lot in my games too, when I westernized off them as Salish that was the religion that proc'd rather than Catholic because they were converted.
I see England flip to Protestant quite often, and Reformed occasionally. Never seen anyone interesting like France or Austria flip though....
I dont think Italy is weighted toward catholic, every time I play in Europe I see Italy north of Rome getting hammered by COR's whilst completely leaving Austria alone which is happily sat between the two.In my experience, Bohemia, Scandinavia, and England are weighted towards protestantism; Scotland, Switzerland, the Palatinate, and some other German minors are weighted towards Reformed; while Austria, France, Iberia, and Italy are weighted towards Catholicism (I've literally never seen non-Catholic AI Iberia, or a CoR in Iberia).
From my own observations France and Austria never flip because COR's only start targeting their provinces after converting everything else.
That's because of their Edict of Nantes decision, I think it gives them a lot of heretic tolerance.I find England/GBR almost always goes Protestant. And, no matter how much disunity in France, it stays Catholic. Unless you destroy/weaken the BBB
Yes, I believe that's what does it. Have seen the Hapsburgs go Prot once, due to my intervention. That's because of their Edict of Nantes decision, I think it gives them a lot of heretic tolerance.
