I see England flip to Protestant quite often, and Reformed occasionally. Never seen anyone interesting like France or Austria flip though....

From my own observations France and Austria never flip because COR's only start targeting their provinces after converting everything else.

In my experience, Bohemia, Scandinavia, and England are weighted towards protestantism; Scotland, Switzerland, the Palatinate, and some other German minors are weighted towards Reformed; while Austria, France, Iberia, and Italy are weighted towards Catholicism (I've literally never seen non-Catholic AI Iberia, or a CoR in Iberia).
I dont think Italy is weighted toward catholic, every time I play in Europe I see Italy north of Rome getting hammered by COR's whilst completely leaving Austria alone which is happily sat between the two.

Edit: In addition I find this quite unfair as most countries end up in religious turmoil at some point due to COR's converting them. However, two (4 if you include Spain and Portugal) of the biggest countries basically get a free pass. This ultimately makes them stronger whilst others are weakened all because COR's are seemingly programmed to avoid them.

Here and there. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I think that historically, it was never close to inevitable that they would either. Some would still say that they never became fully Protestant either.

Separately, the strangest Reformation I've ever seen in the game was when it kicked off in Crete.

I had a Scandinavia game where the Reformation really took hold. By 1650, only Austria, Spain, Portugal, and I remained Catholic. France was defender of the Protestant faith and made expansion in Europe very annoying.

Well, in one game, I saw England go Protestant and Scotland go Reformed (as they should historically). England went on to trounce Scotland, and the whole British Isles ended up as Protestant.

The Scottish and Swiss CoRs also led to a broad Reformed movement in France, including a brief French Reformed state religion, but the Huguenots were eventually expelled. All of Padania ended up as Reformed, including Rome for the longest time... except for Protestant Venice. Really, the only Catholics around were Spain, Portugal, France, and Austria.

England always Protestant in my games.. I think I recall one time they stayed Catholic.

Interestingly, Austria just got a Reformed CoR and has about half the provinces flipped so far in my Netherlands game. It will be interesting to see what happens.

On other note, I'd like to ask something here that I was about to post a new thread about:

I received absolutely no notifications about the Reformation. I can't find any message settings about it either. I think though that it used to be an event type message anyway, but I can't remember if that was just eu3 or in 4 too. This issue hasn't bother me until lately with the new CoR system, as before I just took things as they came about. HOwever, in a couple of recent games I want to get a CoR but completely missed the boat.

Should there not be some sort of event message about the Reformation starting? (yeah..I do know it starts around 1500 but I'm not always paying attention to that ...and I really want to know when Reformed CoRs become available)

Also, it appears that you can get your own CoR by taking a pretty big hit once that religion is available to convert too. Are CoR's otherwise randomly assigned to AIs.

anyway, kinda burned me that I didn't get a reformed CoR in Netherlands in current game (by the way, England got both a Protestant and reformed CoR)

Yep. To make it worse, I've had CoRs spawn in those countries - they will convert the provinces immediately bordering them, then ignore the rest of Austria/France and instead flip HRE minors.

I find England/GBR almost always goes Protestant. And, no matter how much disunity in France, it stays Catholic. Unless you destroy/weaken the BBB

That's because of their Edict of Nantes decision, I think it gives them a lot of heretic tolerance.
Yes, I believe that's what does it. Have seen the Hapsburgs go Prot once, due to my intervention.

Whole northern Europe Protestant, Austria and Catholics dying almost every game unless it got really strong early start by inheriting Burgundy. Sweden is in 99% cases protestant. England sometimes converts to Protestant, but its more often Catholic from what I could see.
Reformed is very rare, only few countries take it, and most often they die.

In my last Inca game, England went protestant, which was good for me. In my first try with the Inca, they went Catholic and none of the other major European powers went Protestant, so I faced a united Conquistador front. Spain, Portugal and England make for a killer alliance.

England goes protty in most of my games.

I've once seen all of Europe except Spain and CW go Protestant, which amusingly enough was my Italy game. Austria flipped during the League war, even (they didn't take part because of reasons).
