I don't think that I've ever seen an Imperial AI use the Imperial Liberation CB. In fact, I don't think I ever saw it used in EU3 either.

In EU3 this wasn't a huge biggie. In EU4--with HRE members spamming the conquest CB all over the place--its more of an issue. It is, I think, a major contributing factor leading to the manner in which the HRE coalesces fairly quickly into a relatively few large(ish) states.

I just wanna send a diplomate to Austria "Are you seriously just gonna let Bavaria get away with that shit AGAIN?!"

It's not really worth being embroiled in constant war to free every OPM that gets eaten. When the moderates start getting crazy, they tend to form coalitions that break them apart, anyway. I've never had a non-heretic nation get so big that they wouldn't eventually agree to the revocation, anyway.

Well, you say that, but that base country bonus to force limit and manpower adds up ...

The AI really doesn't run the HRE well. Austria will eventually form the HRE fully - but even then, it lets tons of small states get eaten.

Everytime I play its Bohemia that makes the run for it :D

It doesn't add up any more significantly than having the same vassals in a tighter configuration, or simply having that power yourself.

100 vassals add 300 force limit and 100k manpower/year in base bonus.

Edit: Before modifiers. To that, add the 33% you would've lost from wrong culture malus, plus multipliers on those values. I've released Perm, for instance, who now has Defensive/Offensive/Quantity (+100% manpower, +58% force limit), which means that they get what I would have gotten plus 33%, plus another 2k manpower and 4.74 force limit from the base bonuses and multiplier on the base bonuses.

And you'd have comparable if you simply owned them all yourself, as well as exact control over what goes where, which can hardly be underestimated. But who doesn't love a stack of 50 vassal regiments attaching itself to your mountain guards, or sitting in exile in China?

It wouldn't be anywhere near comparable, see edit. They're not too bright (once in this game, about 20 different vassals landed a total of 280k troops on Bornholm), but it doesn't matter, since the base bonuses more than make up for any regiments gathering dust.

Blimey! How many vassals is that total? It's not actually 100, is it? :)

It's a little scary that your list of allies/vassals doesn't even get past AR in the alphabet..

You've obviously passed Erbkaisertum to get diplo-free HRE vassals, and I assume also Privilegia to get everyone in the HRE auto-vassalised?

But you must still have a whole bunch of non-HRE vassals? Or have you been annexing, adding provinces to HRE, then releasing as HRE vassals so they don't use a DipRel slot?

What's your max DipRel and current Diplomatic Upkeep requirement?

PS. I love the war goal. "Show Superiority." Yeah, I think that might be achieved already.

It's 120, plus a couple of PUs and regular vassals (7/10, plus an alliance with westernized mega-Ming for giggles). And I've been catch/releasing countries into the HRE, yes.

Great game, and it's a lot more fun to paint the map when you get to use more than one color.
