Here is a game where the Preorthryn spawned one jump out from my capital. Wave 1 was half destroyed with my own ships taking the brunt and losing most of my fleet.

As the galactic focus change could not come soon enough, the remainder of Wave 1 decimated half of my empire, by the time Wave 2 came, the focus change had happened and maybe within 10 years a lot of galactic ships(not just allies) came to my help. The picture here shows the Preorthryn 99% destroyed.

Sadly, the eager eyed constructor ships of the AI loved to 'steal' unowned systems before I had to rebuild myself and I mean these ships came during the battles - so they are super efficient...

It's a better situation than 2 years ago for sure but could this be improved some please? It feels a little bitter sweet end for my playthrough. Either the these AI construction ships are a little less efficient for this part of the game for 'remote' systems or these home systems are given back 'somehow'. My pretty borders are ruined but anyways, I will move onto a new playthrough ^^. Still enjoyed it eitherway.

When you hold a system for over 100 years, it should become a dejure part of your empire.
At which point allies should no longer try to claim it, should it become unowned by a crisis faction.

How about you gain one free claim strength on each of your own own systems every ten years, so at one hundred it is maxed out? Then it slowly but surely is recognized as your empire's system, and everyone knows to stay out- or you will force a reckoning for it...

If a friendly empire does still take it in a weird edge case, you should be able to have a diplomatic way of getting it back.
Quite frustrating having a federation member take a system previously yours, in a level 3 federation or higher.
In most cases you will NOT be able to easily kick them out and war them.

When an Empire (say Empire A) takes over a system in a war from another Empire (call them Empire B), then Empire B has 10 claims on that system.

It should be like that regardless of what how a system leaves an Empire's control. 10 Claims.

XCodes has a point. There's no time needed for that to happen normally- maybe it should skip straight to ten, and apply in all cases. If it was yours, you get a full-strength claim on it- then a subtle shift in a single parameter box's value for the AI and it'll leave the it the heck alone...
