Playing Italy in the 1939 scenario, I find soon the Axis controlling closely all of the world. Only Canada and U.S.A. still resist, so I prepare the invasion by using the isle of St. John, that I got as a gift from U.K. when it surrendered.
This is the first bug: nor U.S.A. nor Canada made any attempts to take over that island, that’s of enormously great strategical importance, in two years.
Then, having prepared the invading armada, I land in Canada.
Second bug: the U.S. Navy does nothing serious to stop me (differently from H.M. Fleet, that had fought to the death in the Channel in the desperate attempt of stopping the invasion of Great Britain, using all of its warships).
I successfully took most of Canada, but then the invasion stops, for the U.S. Army is really huge and strong; the war turns to position war on the borders between Canada and U.S.A.
Third bug: the U.S. Army, despite being largely stronger than mine, never attacks unless it outnumbers me of some 3:1 or more, and this despite having the support of some 200 air units against my only 50 ones. U.S.A. might easily force my main army group to the sea, but its airplanes stay landed and do nothing, and troops atay waiting (...for what?). Of course the AI is using the strategy that U.S.A. used in Europe in WWII; but this time they are not fighting a victorious war far from home: their country is seriously threatened, and in such events troops are required to die in the attempt of defeating the invaders.
In the long trench war I begin thinking some tricks; so I start sending landing forces to attack the eastern coasts.
Fourth bug: not just the U.S. Navy continues to patrol the area with small forces, but there aren’t any garrisons at all defending the beaches. I can take over several times New York and many other provinces, then I withtdraw with no losses when the enemy counterattack is ready.
Now, in one of these ‘hit & run’ operations, I notice that a huge stack of airplanes leaves Boston as soon as my troops lands in the province nearby; and that there are no land troops in that area.
Fifth bug: closely the whole U.S. Air Force is stationed behind the lines, in a beach province, with no land troops to defend them (this also means: no strategical reserve for the first line). And it stays there, doing nothing.
So I wait for U.S. Army regaining the lost territories and for the Air Force landing again in Boston. Then I strike once again, this time in Boston.
Sixth and last (hopefully!) bug: I land a single infantry division, to be quicker, and, as soon as it lands, the enormous enemy stack disappears. I verify on the logger, and U.S.A. have now but 50 air units: 150 were destroyed!
In other words, 10,000 infantrymen have landed on a beach that served as a huge airport... Each one of them destroyed by his hands three or four enemy landed airplanes in a few minutes...! How should I decorate them for such superhuman an action?
