it never happened. and it will never happened. Byzantium has 1/3rd the troops of Persia, and 1/5th the troops of Fatmids. Maybe 1.05 Byzzies could do it. they were perfect in every way. 90K troops. but all the vassals hated the Baselines so you would get Revolts. Id love to see the 1.05 Byzantium return Simply so it could live longer then 10 years. in every game ive ever seen it loses Armenia, then is Dual Jihaded for Greece and Anatolia respectively. it took some serious work But I did it in 1.06b Both with the same Emperor Tiberius "The great" IV earned his title
I started a game as the Basileus, used console commands to get 1 million of prestige, piety, and money. Then I turned off fog of war, and turned on observer mode. The AI didn't do much better than it does anyways in most of my games, so I don't know what else to do. Maybe if I went in at critical points and declared wars for the duchies you need to re-create the empire, but idk.
Well that sucks. I rarely like to play empires or even kingdoms. I'm more of a small demesne kind of guy. But maybe after learning some things from my Britannia game with broken kingdoms, I'll set off to make an orthodox Roman Empire.
