How do you get the AI to cooperate with your planning? Like coordinating a D-day. WIll the AI just go and get itself killed without you?

I believe battle plans can be shared or allied divisions can be included. Which the country in question would need to agree on.
[In one of the recent WWW (I believe nr. 4) Germany had two icons, who looked like a map with planning tool, from Romania and Hungary.]
Edit: Okay scrap that. Had a look at WWW4 and that was only expedition forces.

The AI will offer you troops as expeditionaries if they think you have more use for them, so if you are planning an large scale naval invasion they will probably offer you controll.
