Both of these need to be looked at

SO TIRED of ai declaring war and their ships automatically dart towards the single cog I accidentally left on the other side of the world

Also SO VERY VERY tired of AI ferrying an entire armada of ships across the world without a naval base in the same hemisphere to land a stack of 40!!!!!! troops, this makes playing an asian nation way too frustrating right now atleast make the AI not under any circumstances go past 2.5x its naval supply limit on the map

Yeah honestly, it's kind of insane that Wiz asks "AI isn't that big a cheater is it?" Yeah, it is, and it's bullshit.

this isn't cheating. the Player can do that to if he wants to/can afford it.

2,5x naval supply limit: get a lot of cash with trade/production/tax

bengal doesn't need to land troops in norway, there is a land connection (via russia mostly). even if they need MA to a lot of countries - no problem for the ai and the player.
if they actually do land troops there, they can get fleetbasing rights from nearby countries or use the naval bases of their war partners to hop to the target. (as player, AI doesn't get naval attrion)

Everything mentioned is possible with a lot of gold and sometimes some dipl-MP

Finally, for the sake of fairness, here is how the human cheats:
- Humans cannot be replaced as warleader in a war unless they are a vassal.

Can anyone confirm that this no longer applies?

Patch 1.3 notes state that:
  • Players can now be replaced as warleader in a defensive war as well.
Which implies that they could already be replaced as warleader in an offensive war, although I couldn't find a patch note for that.

Anyway I assume this means that Wiz's original implementation of "Humans cannot be replaced as warleader unless they are a vassal" now no longer applies in any situation?

Can anyone confirm or deny whether the AI has to pay back its loans or not? Pretty sure they do not, that is a very serious crutch. The reason I say that is I have utterly destroyed spain in a couple campaigns, no manpower, bankrupt, still raising 40,000 man armies. inflation ~10% WTF

Yes they have to pay back their loans. Many times I've had an ally unable to join a war because of the Debt modifier to Call to Arms. I've sometimes then Gifted them large amounts of money, and then seen that modifier disappear.

I've also tag switched to AI nations and seen loans, which have then not been there later when I've checked again.

Bankruptcy is not a game-ending situation. A nation can continue making and spending money when it's bankrupt, though it will likely continue to go bankrupt over and over, keeping it at -3 stab almost permanently, and meaning it will never have any Monarch Points at all.

I am pretty sure the only way to be replaced in an offensive war is to become a vassal or junior PU member.
Normally, offensive wars (Coalitions excluded) can't swap warleader.

Any chance the following will be re-coded at some point in the future:

AI does not get naval attrition.

I really hate it when the AI shows up with their main fleets in my colonies half around the world with no resupply bases close by and wreck it all. It basically means I need a large fleet on stand by in all of my colonies, no matter the distance from my enemies next supply base. It completely destroys the strategic planning of naval warfare and on top of that it is not affordable to have several large fleets around the world on stand by. Even if I play as England I can't afford it.

Nonsense. You can (and SHOULD) bottle them in their home ports. They tend to keep their heavy ships home. It actually leads to some pretty interesting situations - will I engage small enemy fleet roaming English English channel and risk blockaded French squadron to slip away and wreck my trade fleet in Carribean? Something like that happened to Nelson and it makes blockade more fun. You can use it as strategy against AI when you have weaker Navy.
I almost never keep my heavies in colonial waters, only 4-5 to gain an edge against enemy light trade fleets. Only exception is East Asia which is too far away, so I tend to stattion one squadron there.

Not sure whether this has been mentioned before. I sometimes have the impression that the AI knows where I am heading with my armies. Not the next province, of course, but if I am targeting their invasion army with my army several provinces away. I right-click on their army to move my army to them and the AI army immediately runs away if the odds are too bad. While I appreciate this behaviour when my army is in an adjacent province, it looks like a cheat when this happens from several provinces distance in fog of war and without in-game information about my army's target. I noticed the same thing with fleets. I target some small fleet blockading my ports and that fleet immediately rushes away. Is it possible that the AI cheats here? Now I tend to always move into an adjacent province, preferably with little movement cost to target province and then attack.

Nonsense. You can (and SHOULD) bottle them in their home ports. They tend to keep their heavy ships home. It actually leads to some pretty interesting situations - will I engage small enemy fleet roaming English English channel and risk blockaded French squadron to slip away and wreck my trade fleet in Carribean? Something like that happened to Nelson and it makes blockade more fun. You can use it as strategy against AI when you have weaker Navy.
I almost never keep my heavies in colonial waters, only 4-5 to gain an edge against enemy light trade fleets. Only exception is East Asia which is too far away, so I tend to stattion one squadron there.

no it isnt. it allows the AI to map the world at an incredible pace, much faster than the human ever could, and at no costs at all but the upkeep of the ship.

on top of that, its completly silly that the hansa can make some light ships and sail waaaaay out of supply range to protect trade in chesepeake bay and steer to to the north sea while the player would quickly lose his fleet that way, even if the node in question is completly owned by one country with no naval bases of even neutral forces around, leaching a lot of trade away.

this gets even worse in an wartime situation. while lategame its plausible enough with the large supply range and lowered attrition, earlygame its ridiculous that its possible for the ai to just load up an fleet and sail to the america's to grab your colonies without naval bases near. their fleet should be near deatoryed and have lost like half its ships if they try to pull off such a joke.

Not sure whether this has been mentioned before. I sometimes have the impression that the AI knows where I am heading with my armies. Not the next province, of course, but if I am targeting their invasion army with my army several provinces away. I right-click on their army to move my army to them and the AI army immediately runs away if the odds are too bad. While I appreciate this behaviour when my army is in an adjacent province, it looks like a cheat when this happens from several provinces distance in fog of war and without in-game information about my army's target. I noticed the same thing with fleets. I target some small fleet blockading my ports and that fleet immediately rushes away. Is it possible that the AI cheats here? Now I tend to always move into an adjacent province, preferably with little movement cost to target province and then attack.

Yes, the AI can see through fog of war (but is supposed to pretend it can't in most cases).

I think he's talking about more than just fow. Normally you can't see the destination of enemy armies beyond the next province. He's saying it seems like the AI can see what the final destination of your army is; I believe others have reported similar suspicions.

it's definitely true. the AI will respond to you sending a stack from across a continent based on its destination. eg, send a large stack to lift a siege from a dozen provinces away. the AI stack will immediately start moving every time.

That's a bug.

Figured as much considering how exploitable it was.

Also explains why the AI seems to struggle with completing sieges in AI vs AI wars, with all the times I see a 28%+ siege, with breaches, inexplicably ditched ... only to restart at -35% a few days later.
