I'll post screenshots later, from home.

So far 1.5 feels good, but there seems to be an issue with how AI manages planets with global food.
I glanced at AI empires planet and was surprised to find their pops at 10% happiness due to -50% malus from starvation, which means that starvation is lasting for quite a while. This AI is not at war and wasn't at war lately, I see no other reason for it except poor AI management of resources.

My settings: Ironman, hard, 1.5 (not 1.5.1.) with no Utopia.

Is it a bug or am I missing something?

Maybe this explains how my Syncretic Evolution Slaver Species explodes into slave rebellions EVERY SINGLE GAME I have played. Unrest from slaves shouldn'T be that hard to handle.
But Unrest from Slaves + from starving pops would explain a lot.

I'll pay special attention to that the next playthrough I meet them and report back here, might be a relevant bug for the AI department.

Really? I've been noticing the exact opposite problem: AI empires, and sectors, are too eager to build farm buildings. This seems to really stunt the growth of some empires early game, because the new POPs consume minerals from Consumer Goods, there are few mines built, net mineral income is so low they can barely develop. Particularly noticeable if they start with a large number of food tiles.
