This bug/feature came up in Quick questions / Quick answers thread.
The game doesn't apply attrition to AI correctly when there are armies from more than one nation in a single province. It seems to calculate unit weight only from the topmost stack in that province and apply that same attrition for all armies in that province.
For example: France and it's vassals have 27k troops in a province with supply limit of 12. All armies there should suffer 5% attrition, but they don't. This happens because the unit weights are calculated incorrectly for the AI.
I'm not entirely sure if the attrition for all the armies in a province is calculated by just the unit weight of the the topmost stack in that province (5.2) or maybe each stack is calculated individually (for example, France has 13k units of those 27k there and perhaps it's the unit weight of just their own 13k which is taken into account when their attrition is calculated). Either way, this is unfair benefit for the AI.
(If it isn't clear, attrition info from that 27k stack in Normandie is shown in both pictures.)
If the player is in control in that same exact situation, attrition is correctly 5%. Confirmed this with tag switching to France just before tick of the month.
Also the UI doesn't just show the numbers wrong. After the tick of the month, AI armies have more men than the player would have in that same situation.
