nobody else seeing the problem with being 1 october and poland isnt close to being dealt with? :\

LOL, thats exactally what I was thinking

Just looking at how everything has been going in these SS, I really dont see much difference from the old AI. In fact putting German units on AI controll usually lead to a downfall of Poland in 3-4 weeks Max. I will admit that I stopped reading 1/2 way thru and just keep looking at the pictures.

Something that would really give us a good indication of the AI would be attack on France, Japan's fight in China, Normandy Invasion, Barbarossa, or the Island Hoping in the Pacific.... To be honest there isn't much the AI can mess up with the invasion of Poland so I dont believe it really gives us anything to be hopeful for.

I hate to be negative, but I think if PI really wants to prove anything to us. Show us some battles the require a little bit of AI effort.

To clarify this: Poland fell historically on the 6th of october, with Soviet help. If the Soviets would take some VPs while the Poles fight the Germans, then probably they would have fallen by now (but that is not really represented due to engine limitations.) Also note that the player can take Poland much earlier even if the invasion starts on the first of september because you as a player will probably go for the VPs right away, while the AI maintains a more straight line. (And the Germans didn't target 'VPs' IRL either.)
Yeah, sure, but Warsaw fell in 28th October.

However, no one needs RL capitulation dates, right? Things can go differently...

"If you want you AI to be totally non-aggressive you can use "Prepare" "

Post 72! :p

I'm on a roll here!

But how this comand actually works? I tried it several times in various games, and it seems that it has very little or no use in defending provinces.

Actually, "prepare" is used to tell an army group of a theatre to move its assets into position for a later attack on your objectives. This command is especially useful in the Pacific, where theatres and army groups often have to cover a lot of territory!

If playing Soviet and defending behind that river that stretch trough the whole front.

What AI do I use so it :

Hold that line
Counter attack any breach in the line

Could I make a army theater of only those river boarding provinces and sett it to attack?

I think the answer to the first question would be the "defensive" stance. That tells the a.i. not to go taking provinces and to maintain a coherent line.

As to the second, I think you could define a theatre in the way you describe, but I'm not sure how it would behave! :D
It would be an interesting experiment to try, for sure.

by mid september the victories already achieved proved that germany had an undisputed advantage and was going to emerge victorious. That was only boosted by the reconquest launched by the soviets. The ai however isnt as good as the german generals/staffs ^^

And it is clear that Poland will fall sooner or later, so I don't see a problem.

Also, remember that attack delay might still be very long (probably too long)...

Glad to see people are enthused, but for the record the AI has been waltzing over Poland sucessfully like this since release. Hard to get a sense of what's new and improved in Semper Fi with this mini-AAR.
