So, apparently the AI now frequently uses their favours with the player in the same way that a player could do. The very first moment I don't have an heir, Austria comes along with a long-chinned Habsburg prince for my throne 
So they don't use the favours for calling me into wars, but instead do the classic Habsburg way of marrying everybody and their mother. For test purpose, I accepted the offer, but I am not sure whether or not to keep him around...
