I just managed to make the AI army ratio 10 artillery to 10 infantry to 1-2 cavalry so is there any downside that i didn't find yet that stopped mods to make this ratio because in all the mods i played the AI seemed to have too little artillery?

It may be because at the start of the game massed arty isn't as effective as lots of infantry&cavalry at the edges, and arty usually stays in the back and don't get damaged too much while infantry takes alot more damage.

Although this is just a guess.

It may also be because in the early stages, there's not enough production of liquor and wine to allow the production of some units in the vast quantities that would require. The devs might have thought it better to make armies with weaker types of divisions rather than not being able to build enough divisions. Besides, armies composed of 50% Artillery were NEVER fielded historically, so it doesn't make sense to make that "normal" in the game. In my opinion, there should be restrictions on how high a percentage of artillery you can field, without suffering efficiency penalties, and doctrines/techs that gradually allow you to use more over the course of the game.

One thing to consider, if you can make the AI handle it, is all the excess infantry you get from mobilizing. In my experience the first few AI stacks I fight are usually pretty okay, but they don't seem to produce excess armies with just the cav/backline units so they end up throwing hordes of poor people at you to slaughter.

The thing is that AI doesn't take in consideration mobilization when is making his army. I can make him not build infantry but i cant make him merge his standing units with the mobilized ones so he will end up with armies with no first line and it will be the same slaughter.
I'm trying a new way of building and mobilizing troops right now and have met with some success but modding something so big is proving to be more time consuming that i thought.
