Brief rundown-

1936 Scenario

Me= France I withdrew from the Allies on the first day dug in and sat(avoided the main war the whole game my entire war consisted of invading Luxembourg in 1940 and Liberia in 1941 or 42:)

Other then that I focused soley on keeping modest supplies going at various stages to the Nationalist Chinese in their war wit Japan and the USSR in their war with the Axis(I late switched these around to going to axis nations with some small effect but it was too late) and various research nothing elaborate. In the end I felt I sent too much aid...

WWII in this case is AI vs AI.

1936-1940--Japan wages war in China and bogs down (I had sent alot of resources an much defense centered tech to the nationalists at this time and air tech) roughly where it bogged down in reality though it did make it deeper in places.

1940-1942-War continues in China til early 42 when they throw out the Japanese and conquer Korea...they then sit......for a bit;)
1940 Germany invades the USSR I send massive aid and tech to the USSR German forces drive deep to Moscow and beyond.....mid 1941 major USSR counterattack drives Germans all the way to the Rhine. Back and forth in Central Germany /Balkans through 42.

1943-44- Germany collapses!! and is annexed by the USSR who proceeds south into Italy....US actually does something on the ground and invades Sardinia/Taranto/Dodecenes(sps?) and the southern tip of Argentina(who joined the Axis in 1941)
by mid 1944 all Europe except SE Sicily is clear of Axis powers...the Italians hold all of East Africa(it will remain this way til the end) During this period nationalist China makes a landing in South Tawain and the Southern Home Island of Japan.

44-46 China occupies all of the Home island of Japan but the Southern half of the north home Island.

47-48 everyone sits as the war for all intents has been over since 45.

Oh and India declared independence in 1946(which must be a serious blow to the UK player)

////////////////////

I find it telling that during this War the two most successful AI powers are the ones I helped supply and upgrade early off. They are also the two that almost always fall in a game without interference.

Unfortunately this does not help if you play as an Axis power..the AI of the Allies does not send research or supplies of any kind that I could see in various save games of this...without that aid China and the USSR are doomed and that is what occurs most games.

Without an AI arsenal of democracy playing as Axis you will almost always see Japan defeat China and Germany defeat the USSR.

Which sucks because who wants to play the good guys anyway :D

The AI also needs to produce more units it has no problems in AI vs AI wars but at times the USSR had a whopping 20 or so divisions..If I could have France would have stomped them which makes no sense as this is when they where at the height of their power and actively at war in Europe. They should have had at least 100 divisions and an Airforce(which I saw no sign of).

The US and UK need serious help in the concepts of doing something productive besides bombing and having naval battles they had numerous oppurtunities to mount an offensive against the Euroean Axis but never did..(when the US landed in the Italian provinces I though something was going to occur but nope they sat there and waited for the USSR to clean up the rest of Europe) The US took some Japanese Islands and I assume was bombing them and fighting naval battles..BUT even when Japan was open to invasion they did nothing...well they watched the Nationalsist Chinese occupy Japan(errm yeah c'mon)

On the bright side the US did more then the UK..the UK did absolutely squat on the ground anywhere-it never tried to regain Africa from Italy even when that was all that remained of the European Axis powers. It never landed in Italy or along the German coast even though many had no defenses and they had HUGE fleets dominating the seas.

Overall this though is the lack of the AI propping up Allied and to be Allied nations with resources/tech when they are at war with an Axis or to be Axis power. They send nothing ever and as a result the AI of those targeted nations fall to the Axis juggernaut.

I may have some webspace floating around to host them.

The EU games used F11 for screenshots, then dumped them to your EU directory. Give that a try...

Ok figured it out.

Here you go. I only had 3 save games from it but it shows the AI Allied march to victory against the AI Axis..starting with the Soviet drive into Germany and the Chinese driving the Japanese back to the coast in China.

Obviously we need to replace the U.S. and British AIs with the Nationalist Chinese one.

Seriously though, it is nice to see that with a little help, some of the non-Axis nations can do well. It gives one hope that they can be patched.
