4/5. First post, long time lurker/player by the way.

I think it was a great decision to focus on new features instead of countries, for instance, since the modding community has no trouble making those ourselves. I haven't felt like I needed the naval rallying point. I was also really, really impressed by the American Civil War, although I think the North goes for the truce too often. If you stick it out and fight hard, eventually you'll win it- which is pretty much down to the t for historical value.

I could use more of a focus on the way the world was changing, though- more labor events would have been great- and admittedly I've had a little bit of trouble with the game's stability.

microsoft spazzing with games in program folder, also make a text file called userdir(in caps) in the game directory

I very much like the new file locations. I'm very much for standardization. If I can go to one folder back it up and have all my saves backed up that's better and easier for me.

First impression was 4/5 but now it's 3/5, reforms are awesome world economy is pretty much broken. Whatever I produce begins to turn in red numbers solely because nobody can afford to buy it even though it's on high demand. If I had a LF government, my industry definitely would crash and burn right away. POP's who never get taxed and receive the highest wages possible still cannot afford everyday goods. Reform demands carried me over to universal suffrage but if people instate a LF government, it's game over without subsidizing constant price fluctuations. Countries cannot afford their historical armies, I'm NGF and anyone but GB and France is scraping the bottom of the barrel in 1867.

I guess I'll shelve it when CK2 arrives and let a patch or two hit it.

That is odd...

I'm USA and the capitalists have gotten me to #1 industry.....

And even know I've gone communist, gotten #1 army and prestige, and still hold #1 industry without capitalists OR me missing with the factories....They've just been chugging along without any problems...

Yeah, I have found LF to be incredibly powerful. I started off building a few factories with state capitalism, promoted a good few capitalists, then let the liberals take over and I got the 4th biggest economy in the world as Japan.

Well, I have the most industrial score and lead in producing many industrial and even some basic goods but am in the red from stuff in high demand because "actually bought" is way lower (like half) of what's produced while demand is double of supply. So world market buys like a quarter of what it demands while I pay full price of already exhausted and expensive raw materials.

There's a serious money shortage on the world market even though pretty much nobody is producing goods. Nobody except the big three can industrialize because their starting factories keep closing due to constant losses. Raw materials are very scarce and biggest producers don't let railroad investments or can get mining/farming increase techs anymore due to westernizing change. I don't see situation improving even when Africa is colonized at this rate.

Austria has like 30, Russia 60, USA 40 and OE 10 brigades with France 85 and GB 170. Everyone else (except China ofc) has like the King's personal bodyguards as their army, in 1867.

L-F is disgustingly strong for #1 prestige, but suffers much worse than other economic policies at less than that. I think a lot of people tend to forget how important Prestige is, and just think of it as being just a score, with no game function. When we had grotesque surpluses of all the goods, that's more or less what it was; now it's vitally important for more liberal economic policies.

Honestly, with the patch these people are using, I was never moe than #8 as Japan, and I still had a massively successful economy.

L-F is okay/really strong if you use your NF to promote Craftsmen. But as soon as I hit 1900+ I try my hardest to get state capitalists in order to get tank factories and upgrade them the capitalists reacted to slow during my 2 last games to satisfy my demand <.<

I waivered a little bit between 4/5 and 5/5, but finally I think 5/5 is justified, because it is really great.

I specially like new features like the rally points (makes life so much easier) and foreign investment (adds up so much fun to the SOI game).
But I also like two things about this expansion which are not features, but rather "attitude of the PI team".
First, the small but really nice graphical advancements (cav sprite, tank sprites, and so on). They show that the developers put an amount of love into this baby.
And second, the incredible long list of improvements requested or suggested by the community, and now coming true in this expansion: it shows that the developers really care about the community and take them serious!

5/5 is justified. It is great.
