One slight problem; if you're running Catalytic you probably also want to run Agrarian Idyll because why not combo the farming empire with the food into alloys empire, it's mechanically aligned and good roleplay potential. But Agrarian Idyll is barred from researching Anti-Gravity Engineering, which is required for Ecumenopoli. So either you need to add AI as the third civic, which I'm not sure you can do if you have an ecu up already, or get really lucky and find both a relic world and that one dig site that gives you the Anti Grav tech even if you're barred from taking it (Paradox pls don't fix). Or, you know, you could not take AI but then my farmbois will be sad that they can't just stare at a cornfield and have to go all the way to a theatre for their amenities like a city slicker.
I believe the popular way to do this is to drop AI, research Anti-Gravity Engineering and take the perk, then take AI again.
