AGOT: Install without ModDB?

Register your game and go on the forums, it's the only way that it will work.
If you can't register your game because you pirated the game then you are out of luck. Also even if you happen to get hold of the installer or files for AGOT (or any mod for that matter) none will work with a pirated copy.

Man, now I want to find a pirated copy of CK2 just to find out why mods don't work. Also, that game where your bullets turn into chickens.

What do you mean by register my game? I don't know what that means. I have it on steam, if that helps. Sorry, I'm a bit of a noob.
Theres a tab at the top of the page called "Register your game". Somewhere in there you will need to enter your steam key for the game. Then you can access all the forums. And you get an icon.
Ok sorry, but I have to ask another dumb question: How do I figure out what the steam code to the game is called?
I don't have that button on my screen. Odd. I did end up connecting my steam account to my paradox account while messing about in the "Register a game" tab. Does that help.

"User mod forum"? Is that a place I can download it? And if so, where do I get to it? I'm sorry about all the stupid questions, I recently joined this site and have no clue what I'm doing.
Both of those just lead me to ModDB links. Is there any way I can not use ModDB?

Well, I downloaded the Windows Files on ModDB, but whenever I try to run it and start installing it says I cant, because it says the file doesn't have any program associated to it. As I type this I start to wonder whether the problem would even be solved by not using mod db, but I don't know. If you know the answer to this problem, please tell me.
Try posting a thread in the forum or posting the question on their support thread or whatever if they have something like that. Maybe there's a way you can install it manually.
Installing CK2 mods is almost always a very easy process- you download from a mirror of choice via the mod forum, you extract/unzip your .mod and the mod's folder and then drop them into your mod folder located under Documents. The only secondary programs you should need is something like WinRAR or 7-Zip, though if I recall AGOT has a scripted installer but it still needs to be extracted regardless.

I don't want to use the .zip files to download it, I have the windows installer. I moved it into my mods folder, but it still wont work. I don't think the file knows it is supposed to be for Ck2 which is annoying. Any way to get it to work?
If you already have the installer, all you should need to do is double-click and run the program.
