In a recent game as the Tsar of Russia, my son and heir, who is also the Emperor-consort of the Byzantine Empire, was recently imprisoned by a rebelling vassal of the Basalisa, and as soon as he was, my succession went haywire. I have two grandsons born from this same imprisoned son and multiple sons, and yet the succession for the Russian Empire and the Kingdom of Rus immediately switched to my eldest daughter (wtf?). My eldest Basileus son still remained heir to Volga Bulgaria, as it was set to Agnatic succession. I currently have absolute crown authority, but that should make no difference, as it explicitly states that it only affects vassal titles that would be inherited outside the realm. To test that imprisonment of my heir screwed up succession, I reloaded the save as the rebelling Byzantine vassal, and released my son, and immediately succession in Russia reverted back to normal. I have no idea why this happened, but I would appreciate someone taking a careful look at this eventually.
