Age of Exploration

Hi, I'm new here and have a question. I started the age of exploration scenario as England. I want to explore the New world, but when I click on the terra incognita, it says that I need to have naval tech lvl 21. That's alright with me, but that would mean, I would have my first colony in the early 1700's. And portugal and spain do have colonies because I'm seeing caravans and ships going toward the Terra Inc.

Please help Thanks.



p.s. How do I get conquistadors?

Certain countries receive historical explorers and conquistadors, every country has a theoritical chance to receive random one`s. As England you should be able to explore and colonize america`s in the 16th century already.

England's first historical explorers begin appearing in the early 1500s (the Cabots), but, Spain and Portugal receive earlier ones...this doesn't mean that you can't get random ones earlier though.

Conquistadors appear in the same manner as explorers.
