Hi everybody,

somehow the attrition calculator does not work in my game :-(

what happens: The attrition percentage as calculated for all normal armies, fleets, conquistadors and explorers are done wrongly. All these errors emerge repeatedly.

a) If the sum of Unit size, Supply and for example winter is zero, my conquistador still gets some attrition calculated, lets say 8.
b) my fleet gets ridicululous attrition, after crossing ocean (no storm) for 2 months half of the fleet is gone.
c) sometimes even my conquistador vanishes when boarded on a ship after this attrition misctreatment, and the programme does not even give the nomal notice that the service of this leader is lost.

Thanks already for replies

I am so bored of editing the savegame because of this error. can someone help

Are you saying this only happens in AGCEEP? Or only since you installed it but it happens in vanilla too? Or what?

Hi thanks for reply. This is only my second game. I installed AGCEEP right after installing vanilla. I played one vanilla (actually half) and there I did not notice the problem, but I played a continental Teutonic Order, that never had any use of conquistadores or even seen an explorer. Anyway, for the attrition dominated winter wars in the North I did not notice anything like that in my vanilla game.

Hope this information helps. Greetings

As far as i know, you'll get attrition when crossing the ocean, and so will the armies loaded in your ships. Also, your conquistador will indeed get attrition if in a winter province(unless colonized-depending on the size ofcourse), that's quite normal.
Lastly, this is true in vanilla as well, and if you're editing your savegame because of this, you're cheating....shame! :D  :D

Yes, troops aboard ship get movement attrition as if they were marching through your territory. IIRC this is 1%, but I am not sure of that.

Come on, I need helpful comments. Of course I know the attrition concept, but the calculation is wrong. If you have +6 months at sea and -4 leader as only modificators metioned, the attrition result should not be "8".

For the explorer onboard I dont understand why the his whole army vanishes as the ships have attrition of "4". (This troops have as small size of few hundred). His troops should get equivalent attrition of 4 but should not be extinct?!

BTW. I am crossing the ocean with galleys since I am Portugal :) The attition of course is high, around 10 or so. But after 2 months of attrition 10 around 80% of the fleet should be still alive, no? Instead, more than 50% is gone. Funnily the army onboard received only the expected attrition of 20%, so that an 8000 people army was leaving only 4 ships...

Comments highly apprechiated, but please read carefully :D .

P.S: The miscalulation error I spotted now also in Vanilla

you mean re-install completely or just make a new folder and move the files there
Personally, I would delete EU2, restart your PC and then reinstall it.
It sounds like your copy is corrutped, so a reinstall will probably cure it!

that's the explanation!
Each galley out of shore have random chance of sinking... in your case you could lost them all with bad roll as soon as you went to open ocean.

Thanks for your contribution, this sounds like a reasonable explanation for the problem of fleets disappearing.

Leaves the problem of miscalculation in the attrition window for both troops and fleets. Has ever anyone spotted a similar problem?

edit: the problem of vanishing explorer onboard has been solved: I was at Australian North Coast, and simply could not disembark because of permanent Terra Incognita (I guess). When returning to the next island, voila, there the troops were again available to unload.

edit: So I have "only" this weird attrition calculation. One more example: -4 Province supply, -6 leader + 2 unit size = attrition 12?!
When my unit gets "winter" penalty and "out of supply" it should be said in the screen, no?
