No, no, I must have misread you then. :)

Hi guys.

I have been an avid reader of EUII forums, but never posted before.(chicken clucking)

First Off Kudos to you guys for doing a greattttt job. (Applause !!).

To MKJ - My credentials are not as impressive as blade!'s :p but as one who is a history buff and also hailing from the subcontinent i may be of some help. (Taking MKJ aside - begging - Pls let be put my two cents worth in);)

To Blade! - Good to see a history enthusiast(A modest one at that) of subcontinent history no less.

Hey no need to ask permission, ;) One of these days I'll assign threadmasters officially :D

India definitely is something we need to work on, I think when we cut out most of the NA native tribes, India is our next priority.

Well if I can't manage to be modest in real life, at least I can try here! :D

Nice to meet you too! :) I find the best way to get to contribute is just to start unloading your ideas, please go ahead! :)

Some events about Holland in India and Indonesia.
Some very nice events, Vilkouak, but that is an awful lot of potential conscription centres for Holland with the extra CB shields. While Holland won't gain any manpower from those provinces, the conscription centres (once built) will raise Holland's army support limit considerably, and will also allow Holland to raise twice as many troops in the affected provinces. I take it this doesn't create any problems of note?

(Probably not, but you never know)

Far Eastern Manpower Mod

Has anyone in the India thread tried using the Far Eastern Manpower Mod option, and if so, how does it confirm with your desires? Which nations should be strenghtened and which weakened?

EDIT: If nothing else, I'd really like some feedback on Vijayanagar. Since it now begins with real cities in Southern India, it is quite likely that the values should be increased. The values currently used in the mod (\agc\scenarios\fareasternmanpower.inc) are: (Paradox default follows province name)

Code:
[color=white][font=couriernew]
# Vijayanagar (7 provinces/19 base manpower)

# 565: Yanam (2)
province = { id = 565 manpower = 2 }

# 567: Bangalore (4)
province = { id = 567 manpower = 5 }

# 568: Mangalore (2)
province = { id = 568 manpower = 3 }

# 571: Madras (2)
province = { id = 571 manpower = 3 }

# 572: Pondicherry (2)
province = { id = 572 manpower = 2 }

# 574: Trivandrum (1)
province = { id = 574 manpower = 2 }

# 575: Madurai (1)
province = { id = 575 manpower = 2 }

Hello all. I've never posted in the AGC forum before, so please excuse in advance my impertinence. I've been playing an enjoyable VH/N GC as Vijayanagar using the 1st AGC version. The years were good and by the 1560s, I had taken control (mostly through diplo-annexations after military butt-kicking) of Delhi and all but 3 of the Indian culture provinces. Then came the revolts after the "Fall of The City of Victory" event! I was so indignant that I went into the save file and removed the revolt risk, then created my own "event: ("Asoka's Dream") in which I: moved the capitol to Delhi, made Delhi a core province, and added Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati, and Bengali (but not Sikh) cultures. I know that this is probably highly questionable on alternative history grounds, but it certainly added a lot to the fun quotient:D . Might something like this at least be included in a Fantasy checkbox option (like the IGC on EU1) to give the Indian minor human player (I would give each Indian minor a chance at it, kind of like the way that Orleans or Provence can become France) some kind of fun goal to aim at?

:eek: Impertenance indeed! Ashoka's capitol in Delhi, indeed! :eek: Bah.

Ashoka's capitol was in Pataliputra (patna) which would be...... Bihar! :D

I know, I know - please! My father was born in Bihar, so I am well aware that Patna was the Mauryan capitol. I chose Delhi instead because I figured that by the 15th century, Delhi would have made a better site for a national capitol, especially for the non-Delhi human Indian minor, since the conquest and absorption of Delhi would constitute the eliminaiton of the largest theat to subcontinental hegemony (again, similar to Provence or Orleans annexing Paris, seat of the Valois). But what do you think of the substance of my idea (again, as an option to be available in set-up)?

Holland probably will not reach the landtech level needed too early. 2nd, I don't believe that AI conquer more than a few of these provinces, let alone that it will be build conscription centers there. Player is another case but it can only tempt him to involveinto the region. Gains of manpower should be balanced by different religion/culture and some revolts I think.

@Peter Ebbesen
I'm using it but not playing indian nation. Situation in India is quite normal usually. Three of my games reached 1550 and Vijanjagar is not so powerful as it seems - never xpanded greatly. Two more provinces arehis best score. Mysore still exists and owns all of its provinces. Lanka the same.

Malwa usually ends early but it was expected. Gujarati gone mad in one game and has 13 provinces in 1550. Delhi is a big loser in this game, Jodhpur one-province minor. Orissa is doing well too. Has 7 provinces while Bengal is reduced to only two.

But I activated option "All countries are Majors". I observed that it helps ai to get higher manpower than usual. Many provinces in Italy and Germany now has 3 or 4 manpower listed in the window (what means that they have 6-9 manpower). They had almost without exception 2 without that option. The leader is Strasburg having manpower 5 (11 in savefile). In India Delhi and Bikaner have 4 both. Bangalore had to get raise by event cause it has 3 now (listed in game window, so it is 6).

You don't happen to be able to speak Maitali do you?

Well, I think pre-modern unification events are always fun for fun's sake. But personally, I am not a big fan; if there were to be one, I would think a Dravidian Unification event would be fun, or a Northern unification event could also be fun. I suppose a pre-req should be having a Hindu govt... er, or Buddhist! :D I don't see why there couldn't be an event like that spliced in for fun. Once x, Y, & z are occupied, and govt = hindu, then option for this event occurs. :)

Yes, the big winners of making all majors manpower-wise (relatively speaking) are the one province minors*. Once they begin getting "establish cantonments" and "agricultural revolution" random events that was them previously denied, there is only one province that can be affected :)

* This is strictly speaking a lie since very large majors get multiple manpower increases per event in the SSREM.

Well, there are no manpower gains involved at all, since Holland cannot be road connected to the Indonesian islands.

Since it won't screw things up for the AI accordince to your analysis, the only real issue left is the additional 320,000 to the army support limit for the Holland player in MP. That is quite a lot. OTOH Holland is usually very rich in MP and capable of affording a substantial army anyhow. But 320,000...
