I'm interested too.

I even read vassalization in 1389 after the Battle of Kosovo Polje (28th june) against Murad I before inclusion in the OE in 1459.

Other subject: was igorvragovic's work ever finished?

i wonder if he means vassalation due to this below:

Results of the war
The new sultan, Bayezid I, reconciled with the Serbians by taking the Serbian princess Olivera Despina, daughter of Prince Lazar, as his wife. Thereafter, Serbs were obligated to serve in the Ottoman army and pay taxes to the Turks. After the siege of Smederevo, the Ottomans annexed Serbia in 1459. Interestingly, when Bayezid I attacked the forces of Timur at the Battle of Ankara, the Ottoman army consisted mainly of Serbians, since most of the Turks chose Timur's side.

Presumably and Serbians were defeated. The siege of Smederovo is a problem. In EU2 terms, it is hard to have a vassalization from 1391 to 1459 in this case because a "war" seems involved... My knowledge of this area and this period is only what I read there.

But, after the battle of Angora Serbia became Hungarian vassal.

P.S. Although Serbs were defeated in Angora, I am very proud that Serbs were the only to protect Europe :rofl:

firstly in 1427 , brankovic went under the turks as a vassal (suzerity) on concession to some lands,

next from this time and right through his reign as late as 1444, he refused all alliances with HUn, all access for HUN through SER, even with the threat of war by HUN (hyundrai)

I suggest ..........in red

and also removal of military access for HUN through SER at start of 1419 GC IF we cannot achieve this in 1427

Kosovo was no longer serbian from 1427 to until after the EU2 game period

Serbia should not revolt anymore after 1595 when all revolts ended until the modern period
During the Austrian-Turkish War (1593-1606) in 1594 the Serbs staged an uprising in Banat - the Pannonian part of Turkey, and the sultan retaliated by burning the remains of St. Sava

I agree with Khephren for both posts #86 and #87 but not sure for military access.

If Serbia is in alliance with Hungary, why should this event fire since Hungary has no belliquous intentions? Serbia will almost never be in alliance with OE at this point, anyway.

About military access, it could be cancelled by Serbia but it is a protection for a Serbian player and AI doesn't care in wars. It can be a problem with Hungarian troops crossing Serbian territory in a war against OE but I almost always see conflict through Wallachia in my tests, if Serbia still exists...

If we look at this historically using the current AGCEEP ,then the starting setup would be;

Serbia at 1419 to own

Banat
Serbia
Kosovo

when brankovic became monarch of serbia in 1427, to appease the 2 major powers HUN and TUR , he conceded lands
to HUN he gave banat ( original contract by previous SER monarch in 1426) and to TUR he gave away kosovo plus became a vassal of TUR

Although SER was in alliance with HUN , SER as time went on became less and less involved with HUN in wars against TUR, eventually even preventing ALB troops to cross SER borders to help HUN.

He also prevented any HUN troops to cross through SER , so as not to annoy TUR.

Question is for gameplay in 1427 ( as AI ) kosovo must go to TUR and also be a vassal of TUR

I for one hate the annexation of SER by HUN which leads to HUN . v. ALB wars

A test with SER owning the 3 provinces might just work for a better game

Proposal to add Montenegro to AGCEEP

In light of giving Banat province to SER, the idea came to reserve a tag to create Montenegro using 363 Kosovo with 362 Ragusa as an additional core (even though its Scutari, an Albanian territory).

My reasoning is Zeta-Montenegro was probably the only Christian Balkan state that remained relatively autonomous of Ottoman influence. It has its own story (with some highlights) & is better treated as a separate state from SER - especially towards the end of the game period where SER is revived under Black George et al, gamewise displacing Montenegro's role in Balkans at that time under its Bishop-Princes.

I look forward to reading everyone's thoughts :)

IMO , this is too hard to work out, there would be too many variations which can happen

I think its an idea for the new map

Can u elaborate? So have have some answers when new map comes in ;)

well

Zeta lasted 2 years till 1421 and was annexed by serbia

montenegro went to 1516, but many times eluded wars and kept its independence intact due to geographical terrain or diplomatic treaties, like being a vassal of Serbia from 1427 to 1451 or there abouts.

If we introduce montenegro , the AGCEEP will have the same problems as we had in trying to keep Ragusa independent without going under to OE, VEN, SER, ALB or BOS....... a lost cause

I think its a wasted tag for this current map. but if you want to try, well go ahead and make kosovo ...Montenegro. but who will own it in the game will vary greatly.

In regards to new map, I was told that HUM represents , zeta and what you are talking about , while Montenegro will be Venetian, representing Cattaro, Scutari and all other related cities and areas. ( Montenegro is from the Venetian language)

So HUM will be independent and Montenegro will not

Following the discussion started here, there is a problem if Serbia stays vassal of OE since country will probably enter OE alliance and AI OE will never break this vasselage or diplo-annex because of the religious difference. Serbia could thus survive until the end of the game but, worse, OE could never reach Hungary and enter in conflict with Habsburgs.

#-#Succeeding his father in 1456, Lazar III's reign was marked by family quarrels in the face of Ottoman danger. His own death in 1458 paved the way for a period of unrest - beginning with the intrigues of his widow Jelena and his brother Stepan against the Grand Vojvoda, Mihajlo Andjelovic. When Mihajlo was captured by the Ottomans, Stephan assumed power as Stephan V (the Blind). Within a year he'd be ousted by his sister-in-law Jelena and her son-in-law Stepan Tomasevic of Bosnia in collusion with the Magyar King Mamuja I Korvin. The only two remaining choices were the two sons of Stefan Ostoja, Tvrtko's predecessor, Radivoj and Tomas. Radivoj was an ally of Ottoman Turks and already showed his incapability by failing to gain influence in Bosnia despite Ottoman support. In monarchs of Serbia, there is a problem with overlapping dates for the last ones:

Isn't Petar I a fictional monarch as should be all Petrovic-Njegos ones? Real Peter I of Serbia was born in 1844.

Should we reduce his deathdate to match 0121041 and add an ahistorical event sleeping the last two monarchs if Petar is on the throne (a player or very lucky surviving AI Serbia) because Principate becomes weird in such situation?

Currently, if OE release Serbia with following event:
Code:

#-#The Serbian independence movement grew strong under Karageorge and Milos Obrenovic in the first two decades of the 19th century. The two men hated each other, and Milos probably had Karageorge murdered in 1817. After the Russo-Turkish War of 1828-29, Serbia finally became an internationally recognized principality under Turkish suzerainty and Russian protection.

Petar I will be the default king but he will be replaced on the same day with 0121041 or 0121042 according to the date...

And there is a problem with startdate for this event anyway, startdate shouldn't be before startdate of monarch 0121041.

Any thought?

EVENTNAME277006;The first Montenegrin law;;;;;;;;;;
EVENTHIST277006;In 1798 Petar I introduced the first laws in Montenegro - Zakonik Petra I. This law was further updated with five new paragraphs at the assembly in Stanjevici (1803). His rule prepared Montenegro for the subsequent introduction of modern institutions of the state: court (called Kuluk), taxes (60 para per household annually), schools and larger commercial enterprises. He also introduced his guards (25), so called 'Perjanici', who were chosen from the most prestigious tribes. Perjanici were first police (dzandarmerija) forces in Montenegro whose duty was to arrest those facing Kuluk. \nPetar's intention to implement the law and strengthen the central government was met with the resistance from the Montenegrin tribes who had always had considerable freedom and autonomy. Determined to impose the rule of law Petar asked his guards to kill two prominent opponents of the new law. These two were the tribal heads of Komani and Cevljani.;;;;;;;;;;

EVENTNAME301090;Serbian Uprisings;;;;;;;;;;
EVENTHIST301090;Ottoman repression in Serbia significantly increased in the beginning of 19th century when janissary leaders, the dahis, rebelled against the Sultan and seized the rule of the Belgrade Pashaluk. It culminated in January 1804, when dahis prepared executions of popular leaders, gentry, priests, former rebels and wealthy traders, called the Execution of the Dukes (Seca knezova in Serbian). Being notified of the ongoing executions, Karadorde Petrovic (Black George) escaped execution by ambushing the assassins with his men and killing them all. \nAs the response to the executions, Serbs rallied in Orašac on 14 February 1804, and Karadorde was chosen to be the leader of the uprising. The rebels managed to quickly incite revolt, firstly under the pretext of liberation from dahis, but after the Battle of Ivankovac in 1805 they started open combat to end the rule of the Ottoman Sultan. In March of the same year Karadorde was officially appointed Military leader of Serbia, the self-proclaimed Vozd. \n \nIn 1813, the Ottoman Empire launched a big assault on Serbia taking land all up to the rivers Morava and the river Drina, and Karadorde, along with other rebel leaders, fled to the Austrian Empire on 21 September 1813.;;;;;;;;;;

#-#The Serbian independence movement grew strong under Karageorge and Milos Obrenovic in the first two decades of the 19th century. The two men hated each other, and Milos probably had Karageorge murdered in 1817. Miloš Obrenovic was one of the few leaders of the rebellion that stayed in Serbia to face the vengeful returning Turks. Accordingly, in April 1815 he instigated the Second Serbian Uprising becoming Serbia's absolute leader. \nAfter the death of Karadorde Petrovic, Obrenovic became leader of Serbia. By 1817 the Turks defeated Miloš's armies but not before he negotiated with Marashli-pasha. Miloš's diplomacy achieved Serbia's autonomy under the Ottomans leaving him in power though recognizing the Ottoman state. \n \nAfter the Russo-Turkish War of 1828-29, Serbia finally became an internationally recognized principality under Turkish suzerainty and Russian protection.

You already have the removecore for Banat here included in your further modification. Do I still need to submit that modification as per my suggestion in the Ottomans thread? Or is that no longer necessary?

Yes, submit it (when it will be time). I reused your proposal but this is not the main goal of my modification. This is why corresponding lines are in white.
