About post #2752, shouldn't SPA_21053 be involved in trigger instead of ENG_21038 and shouldn't SPA_21053 action_b sleep the new proposed event?
I hadn't even noticed 21053, but I'm not sure that they should be directly linked since Antonelli and Tejada were actually sent to the New World in 1586 before 21053 can even fire. 21038 is actually the first Spanish event in the Drake sequence, not an English event
YodaMaster said:
Better merge proposal with the one in United Iberia. Btw, is EVENTHIST285292 still accurate for Alt Iberia?
What do you mean by merge? And, no, Alt-Iberia should have its own text. I was just feeling lazy. :eek:o
But it seems that I should have a version of 21053 for Alt-Iberia as well as Portugal is equally as unlikely to tolerate English adventurers in the Caribbean as Spain was.

Oups and ok then.

Both Spanish and Alt Iberia events in a single post, to ease submission. EDIT: and ease discussion! :D

About post #2752, shouldn't startdate be before the First wave of Spanish Caribbean fortifications (event 285037 and followings)? Should action_b have an influence on the fortification events?

Proposal:
EVENTHIST285292;In 1586 Felipe II ordered General Juan de Tejeda and Bautista Antonelli to make an inspection of the Caribbean fortifications that had failed to stop Protestant attacks on Spanish holdings and to prepare recommendations for preventing further attacks. Upon their return they advised fortifying only the ports used by the treasure fleets as they were the most likely to be attacked. In November 1588 Felipe accepted their recommendations. Havana was the first port to benefit from the plans drawn up by Antonelli although it would be decades before the new forts were completed.;;;;;;;;;;

Same remark for EVENTHIST260866.

I thought about it, but since the First wave events are AI only, and are pretty key for AI durability against a human, I decided against it.

OK, although in my current game of Alt-Iberia England was actually Catholic during the 1570s and so it never fired. It's Reformed now, though.

Ok for no effect but what about the date? Why not startdate in 1586 (or even 1585) instead of 1587?
Or, at least, AI fortification events could test if this new event just fired before, whatever chosen action. It seems logical.

The dates are historical. They were dispatched in 1586 to make the inspection tour and returned in Sep 1587 to write up their recommendations, which Felipe II accepted in Nov 1588. So 1587 is the earliest that the shift to less offensive could happen.

What's the point of testing for the event for the AI fortification events if it has no effect? Why go to the bother? I understand the logical appeal, but so what?

Just for the logic. Better have the event firing (and visible in the History) before seeing fortifications appearing on the map. No need to post modified events, just the reference to modification of First wave of Spanish Caribbean fortifications (event 285037 and followings) in your proposal.

And what about my question for the texts for the Alt Iberia version?

Aragon will lose it by 1461 if it's not owned or controlled by them. But you're right that Spain/Iberia shouldn't get it if Aragon lost it before it merged with either.

As dicussed in this thread, proposed semiannual generic Colonists boost events made AI only: all august-december events starting with 285502 (Part I), starting with 285581 (Part II) and starting with 285645 (Part III).

What is there to test? We already know that the player is being spammed with these colonizing events. This won't have any effect on the AI, as the proposed change only makes it so that the player gets less of the colonizing events.

Spelling corrections in POR_3267:

#-#King Afonso was only 6 years old when he became King of Portugal. For the first 8 years of his reign (1438-46) the country was rulesruled well by the Duke of Coimbra in his place. However, after DonDom Afonso had ascended the throne as was customary at the age of 14, intriguingscheming noblemen at the court managed to cast doubts in the young King's mind about the intentions of the duke. The Duke was sent away from the King, but later decided to return to his side and help him rule the country. The Duke, not wanting to leave anything to chance, and in fear of his conspiring enemies at the court, made the bad decision to approach the King accompanied by a force of several dozen soldiers for his own protection. The conspirators however managed to convince the King that his old beloved friend was now trying to start a rebellion against him. The King thus sent out an army to engage the enemy before he arrived. There was no real battle, but the Duke of Coimbra was killed never the less.
