my questions reflects that if Aragon is the dominant partner, then we might as well revert back to the old eep days and have the union with CAS be at 1515.

IIRC some northern provinces went to aragon before the merger as well.

In a round about way, if they are not partners (ARG and CAS) then we can revert to the sequence in the old eep days when they formed Spain in 1515

I presume , having a SPAIN is still the aim of the AGCEEP

I'm not sure but it seems to be a big bugfix to me rather than a modification.

With this, Castile has more chance to become Spain because of added conditions in trigger of ARG event and we still have a door open for unification before 1515 and possible struggle between Felipe and Fernando because of Juana.

firstly, I support the formation of SPain in 1479 (a-historical )

but i want to know is why Spain get catalan and italian cultures in 1479. I think that historically, since these cultures where with aragon and aragon was still dealing in trades, alliances and military activety on its own from 1479 to 1515 with ferdinand, i cannot see why we need to give Spain these cultures until the death of ferdinand in
event 285223 (spain)

the only issue i see is a revolt issue, but , that might not eventuate ( needs testing) due to Spain diplomaic setup.

thoughts?

Do you mean Italian and Catalan cultures should only be given with Carlos I?

yes,

historically it will make it accurate, but gameplay , I am unsure. does SPain needs all this manpower at the time, the money etc etc

i feel we need to help the AI for POR in fortress as POR is too poor to build forts.

Why not as sturmvogel did previously: a command line to remove the fortress annd another one to add a fortress. So that AI Portugal doesn't reach level 2 without paying any doblon.

Which is Bordic's comment. If there is already a fortress than Portugal can end up with a level 2 for free. If you have a remove command then an add command, Portugal won't get beyond level 1 with the event.

I agree. Since there is no cost for these forts, reducing fortress level before adding one is a good solution.

Portugal should control the province and religion should not be pagan (in order to avoid TPs).

ok on that, but never seen a fort

I have just witnessed 5 games in 1.54 and my comments reflect past version as well.

I never seen POR build a fort ever (or that I can recall). latest game is 1590 , no fort in azores, non in F Po (using cameroon in AI) , no forts in west africa or south america or east africa. they have 7 built, completed cities and 6 trading cities.

POR reach the thaisea in 1537, so there knowledge of areas is extensive.

Maybe the issue is lack of money for POR, if it is , its pointless to give them extra money because we cannot guarantee they will build forts with it.

My idea will work because as soon as its owned , there is a fort, POR will not build another

I have just witnessed 5 games in 1.54 and my comments reflect past version as well.

I never seen POR build a fort ever (or that I can recall). latest game is 1590 , no fort in azores, non in F Po (using cameroon in AI) , no forts in west africa or south america or east africa. they have 7 built, completed cities and 6 trading cities.

POR reach the thaisea in 1537, so there knowledge of areas is extensive.

Maybe the issue is lack of money for POR, if it is , its pointless to give them extra money because we cannot guarantee they will build forts with it.

My idea will work because as soon as its owned , there is a fort, POR will not build another

Yea that's fine. The idea is great, just supporting the check for that off chance.../we never know what Portugal might be like in a future release.

In post #2395, I made a summary of existing events. Some provinces are already covered by such events. Please check.

Condition checking if province is not pagan (i.e. not a TP) is missing too.
