hi,

so CRI may drop these province because people in it are greeks orthodox, and tatar only fled to crimea (actual ukrainian province) in XIX-XX century.
Also they're puppets of OTT, it's a good way for them to gain back these core province if they didn't get it and if CRI conquer it.
Also very bad diplomacy as they're OTT's puppets, they may not have a diplomacy on their own.

"The southern part of Crimea was directly annexed into the Ottoman Empire and become an Eylat of Kaffa ruled by an Ottoman Beylerbey."

"Crimea" was a part of the Golden Horde Khanate right from its founding in the 13th century. Eventually it became a separate administrative unit and its rulers (emirs) achieved great significance in the Golden Horde's political structures in the beginning of XV centuries. Hajji Giray, a ninth generation descendant of Gengis Khan rose to power in 1420. He took advantage of the disintegration of Golden Horde and in 1449 proclaimed himself to be an independent ruler.

source: allempires.com

which means to me in terms of game, that Crimea Khanate was already playable in 1419 as vassal of the Golden Horde and break vassality by event in 1449 (1441 in wiki) But i'm enable to find leader before 1420, so maybe we can create CRI through event of releasing by the Golden Hord, removing GH cores on CRI in order to avoid wars.

Code:
historicalmonarch = {
	id = { type = 6 id = 037500 }
	startdate = {
		year = 142[COLOR=Yellow]0[/COLOR]
	}
	deathdate = {
		year = 1466
	}
	name = "Hajji I [COLOR=Yellow]Giray[/COLOR]" [COLOR=Yellow]#the Melek[/COLOR]
	DIP = 6
	MIL = 6
	ADM = 6
}

Code:
historicalleader = {
	id = { type = 6 id = 037806 }
	category = general
	name = "Hajji I [COLOR=Yellow]Giray the Melek[/COLOR]" [COLOR=Yellow]#so-called by his own people, which means "angel"[/COLOR]
	startdate = {
		year = 142[COLOR=Yellow]0[/COLOR]
	}
	deathdate = {
		year = 1464
	}
	rank = 0
	movement = 4
	fire = 2
	shock = 3
	siege = 0
	dormant = no
}

The Khans of Golden Horde had been trying to force the Crimea khans to recognize their supervision but Hajji Giray not only successfully resisted these attempts but also managed to expand his power to the territory located between Dniepr and Don, thanks to the alliance with Moscowy and the Polish-Lithuanian state.

(allempires.com)

means in gameplay: CRI starts in 1420 w/provinces+cores on:
-krementjug
-jedisan
-crimea
-azov
-kouban
-kalmuk

+ cores on: kerch & kaffa (or maybe given in 1449-1441)

and when releasing vassality by event get:
-lugansk
-donetsk
-bogutjar

depens if someone else get them, but get core on it surely.

I don't think that we should push the founding of Crimea earlier because if you do more research(or look in our event files) you'll find that Crimea was a site of contention for GH personalities such as Ulugh Muhammed. Also, Crimea is already formed via event, so I don't see the need to re-invent the wheel. I also don't think that GH should lose its cores as it wasn't as if the two states were friends.

Two needed changes:

Relations drop needs to be larger as too often Kazan is on very friendly terms with GH.

Code:
#(1427-1429 or 1438-1440 or 1462-1465 or 1466) Independence of Kazan
event = {
	id = 40059 #triggered by STE_287022 A or STE_287023 A or STE_287025 A or STE_3689 A
	random = no
	country = KAZ
	name = "EVENTNAME40059" #Independence of Kazan
	desc = "EVENTHIST40059"
	#-#

	action_a = {
		name = "ACTIONNAME40059A" #Success at last!
		command = { type = wakemonarch which = 067500 } #Ulugh Muhammad
		command = { type = wakeleader which = 067801 } #Ulugh Muhammad (KAZ)
		command = { type = relation which = STE value = -[color=limegreen]400[/color] }
		command = { type = CAV which = -2 value = 10000 }
		command = { type = relation which = MOS value = -50 }
		command = { type = relation which = RYA value = -50 }
		command = { type = breakvassal which = STE }
		command = { type = breakvassal which = CRI }
		#command = { type = AI which = "kazan.ai" }
	}
}

Death of relations improve relations to a peaceful level.

Code:
#(1435-1445) Death of Ulugh Muhammed
event = {
	id = 40061
	trigger = {
		event = 40058 #STE: Ulugh Muhammad flees
	}
	random = no
	country = KAZ
	name = "EVENTNAME40061" #Death of Ulugh Muhammed
	desc = "EVENTHIST40061"
	#-#
	date = { day = 1 month = january year = 1435 }
	offset = 60
	deathdate = { day = 1 month = january year = 1445 }

	action_a = {
		name = "ACTIONNAME40061A" #That's inevitability for you
		command = { type = sleepmonarch which = 067500 } #Ulugh Muhammad
		command = { type = sleepleader which = 067801 } #Ulugh Muhammad (KAZ)
		[color=yellow]command = { type = relation which = STE value = 100}[/color]
	}
}

Ulugh Muhammad has been murdered! With his death, the way is open for improved relations with the Golden Horde.

I agree with you but what about the proposed change for the name only?

@wiande: around 17 or 18 letters maximum for names of leaders for display purpose.
"Hajji I Giray the Melek" #so-called by his own people, which means "angel"
=>
"Hajji I Giray" #the Melek - so-called by his own people, which means "angel"

It might be a good idea to change the offset in this event so that it will fire sooner.

I have a question about STE_287002 and STE_287003 "The Collapse of the Golden Horde". Both events are almost twins. Only big difference is STE_287002 is the historical event with Crimea controlling Volgograd while at war against Golden Horde and STE_287003 is for any country with GH under 15 provinces.

Problem is STE_287003 can fire before STE_287002 even if Crimea is involved.

In order to avoid this problem, couldn't we create an event for Crimea triggering STE_287002 (no more dates for STE_287002) and only if STE_287003 didn't fire before (STE_287003 could test if Volgograd is not controlled by Crimea and sleep this new Crimean event in action_a). STE_287002 will then sleep STE_287003 in action_a.

Good idea or are both STE_287002 and STE_287003 intended to fire even for Crimea?
