This sequence has a .05 probability of occuring to begin with, because it represents the Dauphin's choice at Montereau to spare Duke John the Fearless. This sequence is designed to impart the entirety of FRA to the Dauphin upon King Charles VI's death...we could change it by having DAU inherit FRA as soon as the Treaty/Alliance at Montereau is sealed between the Dauphin and Duke John, and then changing teh country from DAU to FRA. Sound good?

It happens in every second game to me, that is an early coronation (1422). I like the sequence as it is but, I hate the early coronation. i feel we as gamers miss out on the joan events and the rest of the DAu events.

I feel there must be some relation triggers between the DAu with pro, bur, bou and orleans to give charles the blessing to be king of france (ie earlier than historical) as i said he was weak in 1422,

Claiming the Crown of France pisses many people off, including Duke John of Burgundy. Remember that after ENG claims the Crown of France, BUR then gets an event to either choose to support ENG or not, and so if they support them, then they get a relation boost -- if BUR chooses not to support ENG, then the relations between ENG and BUR suffer accordingly.
yes , but the events i mentioned in question seems strange that an event has BUR likes ENG and the same time an event has that ENG hates BUR

It doesn't make historical sense. The King of ENG wouldn't give up the Gascogne or Calais pale.

i support you in saying that ENG should NOT relaese these provinces, be it cores or whatever, already stated previously

Wasn't the date for core removal of Calais pulled backward in order to facilitate the removal of Calais from ENG's interest once ENG lost Calais? My position is that that that should be enough.

I feel especially with the new map, it should remain under ENG until historically it was lost, thats when the core should go

I don't think you can upgrade a fort past your tech level. As for the French core idea, I would think that that would be best if something must be done about Calais in the event of H. V of ENG signing a lasting peace with C. VI of FRA.

Agree, i prefer province tax loss as being a burden to keep calias for the english, a form of maintencance for the province

What needs to be demonstrated is that the gameplay effects of culture are historically warranted.
as tested, different culture does not make a nation DOW another, different culture will just deprive mp and other stuff

There is already an event that GEL becomes independent again (but only for BUR not for an ahistorical Burgundy-became-France, which makes sense because FRA funded the rebellion) only 10 years later. Geldre will also inherit Friesland in 1515

Absurd? It took almost 150 years to merge the two kingdoms of ENG and SCO -- and they were neighbours with cultures, laws, language and customs which were relatively similar in comparison to those of ENG and FRA. Second, I'm afraid government and society was just simply not advanced enough at this stage of world history to maintain a merged version of these two major european powers. Lastly, every English attempt for ~ 350 years before gamestart to keep ENG's possessions on the other side of the channel failed without variance.

You take a look at the English failure to keep it's continental possesions but tend to ignore the reasons. Remember that the loss was not resulting from "cultural" problems but due to bad governance and lost wars. A close look at other places in Europe shows you that EVERY reasonable monarch tried to strengthen the bonds between his territorys. Why do you think the Anglo-French King would just leave it as it is ? Remind yourself that Merging two Kingdoms can happen VERY fast under the right circumstances.

Just had a thought about the Treaty of Troyes event chain. I think we should add a fourth option, the Treaty of Brétigny.

IIRC, Henry IV was offered the terms of the treaty in return for pledging his allegiance to the Armagnacs. I'm not sure, but Henry V may have been offered the same terms somewhere down the line as well.

So, I think we should have:

A, Crown of France
B, Lands given to Edward III and offered to Henry IV by the Treaty of Brétigny
C, The duchies of Normandy and Guyenne
D, The generous peace (cede everything back, break ties with France, but maintain good relations as a result)

Obviously this event doesn't need to be included, but I think it would be pretty cool. The AI isn't supposed to accept it very often anyway. Now, what provinces would need to be ceded to England if we go along with this?

Here we go:

Wikipedia said:
The exactions of the English, who wished to yield as few as possible of the advantages claimed by them in the abortive Treaty of London the year before, made negotiations difficult, and the discussion of terms begun early in April lasted more than a month. By virtue of this treaty Edward III obtained, besides Guyenne and Gascony, Poitou, Saintonge and Aunis, Agenais, Périgord, Limousin, Quercy, Bigorre, the countship of Gaure, Angoumois, Rouergue, Montreuil-sur-Mer, Ponthieu, Calais, Sangatte, Ham and the countship of Guines. The king of England was to hold these free and clear, without doing homage for them.

On his side, the King of England gave up the duchies of Normandy and Touraine, the countships of Anjou and Maine, and the suzerainty of Brittany and of Flanders. He also renounced all claims to the French throne. The terms of Brétigny were meant to disentangle the feudal responsibilities that had caused so much conflict, and as far as the English were concerned would concentrate English territories in an expanded version of Aquitaine.

The T. of Orleans is meant to reflect something to that effect but something a little more plausible (or historically realistic): The Guyenne lands are perhaps two provinces shy from the swathe of lands given to E. III by the T. of Bretigny in 1360. Those two provinces are replaced with Normandy, however, in order to reflect H. V's historical interest (read obsession) with Normandy rather than Guyenne; the gamestarting conditions and investments H. V has already made in Normandy; the pre-Bretigny boundaries of Guyenne; the historical view that the T. of Bretigny had been a diplomatic, strategic, and political failure.

#-#William de la Pole Earl of Suffolk had been sent to France with the task to bring back a bride for Henry VI. The negotiations had finally settled on Rene I Duke of Anjou's daughter, Margaret. The marriage arrangement cemented a period of truce between England and France, and for this Suffolk elevated to the rank of Marquess. However, Henry had corresponded with King Charles VII and Rene. He had promised Charles to return to Rene the county of Maine. To this end, Suffolk was compliant, and the Queen pushed every chance she had to lobby for her father's sake. Nevertheless, Henry delayed relinquishing the county, however, and Charles's patience was wearing thin. Henry found it difficult to simply give away lands his father, uncle, and his own commanders had fought so hard to retain. Henry's own uncle, Humphrey Duke of Gloucester, had campaigned in that region and would certainly be enraged if an entire county had been ceded without a fight. These events require comment. They address Calais and Gascogne in the event of a Generous Peace Treaty. I'd thought that ENG's surrendering of her possessions in France could be the spark that ignites a YORist rebellion led by Duke Edward of YOR provided in this alternate timeline, the Duke of York was attainted for treason in the early 1450s for having rebelled against a stronger (though still wildly corrupt!) H. VI regime. Edward would land in YOR and attempt a Bollingbroke.

New description for "Henry's Generous Legacy". Just a line or two added, so hopefully it still fits.

desc = "EVENTHIST1000113"
#-#When Henry V returned to England with his new bride, it had seemed that his entire realm had erupted in joyous celebration for their conquering Hero King. However, once the festivities, ceremonies, and initial euphoria of peace and victory began to fade, a grim reality sunk into the hearts and minds of the commons. England had little to show for Henry's miraculous success on the fields of France, save a youthful French Princess and the possessions of Gascogne and Calais, both of which were now mortgaged to the Crown. Disillusioned, many began to view this as an outrage, and it rumours began to circulate widely that the King had abandonded his subjects, nobles and commons alike, at Troyes. Few had escaped many of the great sacrifices at home, and fewer still had reaped the spoils and plunder of victory in the fields of France. The lucrative attractions of the chevauchee and levying the patis were now gone, leaving many returning soldiers frustrated and unemployed. There were no more fortunes to be made in France by the landed gentry and lessor nobles, as any potentially lucrative positions of adminsitration fell to the greatest ascendant nobles and those who enjoyed the King's favour. Many Lords were now seeking payments for their terms of indenture, as were their own men, whilst the Commons now attempted to persuade the King to Resume Crown lands for fear of further taxation. Preferring to spend his time with his new bride and enjoying this relative time of peace, Henry V had neither the time nor the inclination to attend to these matters of redress. Nevertheless, upon his death, and with an infant King on the throne, the support of Parliament became crucial to legitimize the Regency. The ensuing Parliamentary sessions were strained and the Council was reluctant, if not outright opposed, to agree to Resumption. The sessions were twice prorogued for weeks due to rioting in London and Kent, which were brutally put down. It was the first real test for a fragile Regency...

Calais and Gascogne handled this way seems far better to me than submission #668.

Btw, will YOR and LAN tags have to be reserved with reworked War of Roses?
Thanks. No, I won't need YOR or LAN. I freed them so that they could be used elsewhere. If the demand for tags isn't coming to anything though (as it appears to me), then I could definately use YOR for a revolter :)

Also, I think I've stumbled onto what Toio raves about all the time ;) This will require your eyes too Yoda.

Basically, if Troyes doesn't fire, C. VI will die and C. VII should inherit both the throne and FRA provided BUR doesn't control, own, or otherwise have vassaled Il de France.

However, BUR starts the game with C. VI as his vassal. Thus, it is almost certain that if Troyes doesn't fire, then 1000017 FRA fires, which cedes all but Il de France to BUR. With ENG in control of so many FRA territories, including Il de France, FRA is left a once province minor and is, I believe, annexed by ENG. Meanwhile, BUR will usually surrender FRA to C. VII and with it, all of her possessions, leaving DAU to inherit FRA and become FRA without Paris.

Solution:
