I'd say the Romanian Principalities Thread is a good one for it.
And why!??

Its about Transylvania, part of Hungary!
Part till 1918 with some exceptions when it was a nation if itself!

It can be here in this thread, it belongs to here.

CoA still has to be made.
Is that to replace current Corvinus' flag in agceep? If so why not to have it represented as in the picture you posted, ie with the two sharp edges?

becouse I can't make that, and becouse hungarian flags weren't all the same size/shape. :)

There were squareish, and like the one what was already made, this 2 edged one, one with only one edge on the top, and a triangelar.
THis is one of the very less things what doesn't matter really :)

PS: but if you can make that, be my guest, it would look a bit nicer i guess. :p

Oh, I am not able to make it, just a thought and a future possible request of yours in the GRT. :D

There is already a flag shape like this in the agceep gfx folder for Polish-Lithuanian Union iirc...and imo it gives more flavor to the game!

Btw, is there a flag and CoA for the principality of Transylvania?

Hmm, the problem seems to be: There are shields and flags for tag "TRA", but in AGCEEP, Transylvania is represented by "SIE". Is this a bug?

no, its stupidity. Transylvania is Erdély, only in the name most accept,
and also its the english version.
Siebenbürgen is what germans called Transylvania.

I have also seen the other hungarian flag where an egde is on the top, and only there.
I suggest to use that version of shape if possible, not the square, ect.

#-#Born George Utjesenovic the priest, diplomat & statesman played a prominent role in Hungarian politics. Formerly a servant in the Corvinus then Zápolya household he joined a Pauline monastery where his talent & zeal earned him rapid promotion. Fate brought him to János I Zápolya, becoming chief advisor & guardian of Zápolya's son János II Zsigmond. Owing to his tact, György kept the Principality independent from both Ferdinand of Austria & Süleymân of Turkey. In time his deceit caught up with him - forcing György to temporarily acknowledge Vienna. Alas his continued double-dealing incited war between Austria & Turkey - ultimately his death at the hands of the Imperial General Castaldo.

#-#Defenstration of Prague (1618) gave Gábor Bethlen pretext to invade Hungary as 'Defender of the Magyar constitution & liberties'. Ignoring Hetman István Zolkiewski's counteroffer of a Polish alliance against the Turks, Bethlen joined forces with the Czech & Moravian army of Count Thurn & besieged Vienna only to be ousted by Imperial forces. Preliminary negotiations failed as Bethlen insisted on including the Bohemians, but was elected King of Hungary. Yet Austrian arms won the Battle of White Mountain (8 November 1620) forcing Bethlen to conclude the Peace of Nikolsburg (31 December 1620). Ferdinand kept St.Stephen's crown upon confirming the Peace of Vienna (1606). Bethlen became an 'Imperial Prince' with counties in the Upper Theiss & fortresses in Tokaj, Munkacs & Ecsed. Had Gábor accepted Zolkiewski's offer..

#-#Despite his gains in the Peace of Nikolsburg (1620) Gábor rejoined the war against Vienna as an ally of the Protestants (1623-26). Yet the Treaties of Vienna & Pressburg awarded Bethlen no more than a renewal of the concessions from Nikolsburg. Hence he tried reconciling with Austria to secure an alliance against the Porte & a Habsburg bride. Ferdinand II refused on both accounts. Accordingly Bethlen became firmly entrenched in the Protestant camp - marrying the sister-in-law of Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden, Catherine Hohenzollern of Brandenburg.

#-#Bethlen was likened to his great predecessor - Mátyás Corvin (1458-90). Like Corvin he embarked on reforms aimed at improving the state. Ruling as an 'Enlightened Autocrat' he developed mines & industry whilst nationalising foreign trade. A patron of the Arts & Learning, Gábor took peculiar interest in education - founding schools for the children of serfs. In addition he sent students to Protestant universities in England, the Low Countries & the Holy Roman Empire. Calvinism flourished. Despite the huge cost of his projects, Bethlen built a new palace at Gyulafehérvár - keeping an opulent court & a standing army of mercenaries to conduct his ambitious foreign policy.

His Kurucok forces soon occupied Upper Hungary & named him Prince of Transylvania (8 June 1704). But an Imperial victory at Blenheim (13 August 1704) against Rákóczi's French allies began a reversal of fortune. Having failed to reach an agreement with Leopold I of Austria, Rákóczi deposed Leopold from the Hungarian throne in hopes of securing further French support. Instead both sides fought to the bitter end. Without allies the Kurucok suffered loss after loss, effectively ending the uprising in the Treaty of Szatmár (11 May 1711). Henceforth the Magyars & Transylvania became a part of the Austrian Empire.

The vassalisations of Hungary (1490 or 1504) and Bohemia (1471) by Poland have been discussed many times, and repeatedly we have decided to have them removed. Just as we removed the vassalisation of HAB by SPA ages ago.
The idea is nice (even though the king didn't unite the countries war efforts as they do in EU2), but it doesn't work in game. In this case it's not so much a risk of annexation, but we often get a very strong POL+HUN+BOH alliance, ready to beat up mostly OE, but it also brings POL into German affairs too often.

The events are POL258103 and POL258104.

not that it matters but i agree
at least some tests could be done
as i play nowadays only mymap, i can say it helped in the sense that poland does not go into germany as often as with vassalition and alliance with bohemia

But vassalization should be removed. On the contrary you could add alliance only between Bohemia and Hungary without Poland) – these countries were in personal union, not with Poland (the last could only receive some bonus in relations with them).

Problem is with a big alliance HUN+BOH+HAB+POL (+ eventually LIT...) against OE, if you see what I mean...

Anyway, OE has been tweaked in 1.51 betas and should be stronger than before. If such monstruous alliance DoWs OE, OE achieves stalemate now. Otherwise Hungary is in danger. In my tests, if OE is victorious (it happens against a weaker alliance), OE doesn't go to far in XV century because of no core in the area and will ask for big money instead of provinces.

There were even bigger (than the Jagiellon states which historically were closely bounded) European coalitions against the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century and they did not manage to beat it. In game they could easily.

If OE get a good start in the 15th century, it has a chance against the historically strong alliances in the 16th century. First step is to not break their back by 1490.
That's what I am testing with land = 5. So far, it is good for European ennemies but maybe a little too much for muslims ones. Anyway, even with land = 1, it was already the case for muslims (11 against 3 or 4 before 1540). Now, it is 15 or 16 against 3 or 4. But OE is at same level than advanced European countries around 1550.

yes, but the muslim minors of Anatolia should be wiped out by then, shouldn't be?
I ran several tests and I never saw any Ottoman overrule in Middle East, they conquer Mameluks and that's it, they didn't crush the Safavids ; the main problem is a diploannexion of Crimea for me

Actually I would like to see another flag for the Corvinus rule, as the current one seems to me a little... blurred (I cannot find an appropriate word for it!)

Here in this very thread (post 455) there is an alternative flag, but I believe that flag could be resized according to the original form represented in the picture. Any ideas?
