The realm rejoices as Paradox Interactive announces the launch of Crusader Kings III, the latest entry in the publisher’s grand strategy role-playing game franchise. Advisors may now jockey for positions of influence and adversaries should save their schemes for another day, because on this day Crusader Kings III can be purchased on Steam, the Paradox Store, and other major online retailers.
I'm actually tempted to use another set of figures for the Hood's gun. It'd have stated that the Hood's 15" guns cannot penetrate the Bismarck's main deck until at least 28500 yards away. That's more than the 26000 yards I previously quoted.Well as the longest naval hit was HMS Warspite using the same 15" guns that sort of long range hit doesn't seem that unreasonable for another British warship.
I already did the calculations for that. The upper main belt cannot compensate for all that increase on deck armor. If you want 5" and 4" decks on the Hood, you're looking for a permament retirement of the Hood.On the deck armour, assuming it's something like the planned OTL 'Large Rebuild' one of the plans was to lose the 5" upper deck belt and use the saved weight to make main deck armour 5" on the magazines (+2") and 4" elsewhere (+3"). I agree just throwing all the extra weight on would be a bad idea, but moving more towards 'All or nothing' and doing all the extra work planned (like going to HA/LA guns, losing the torpedo tubes, etc) would free up tonnage for considerable modifications.
You'll forgive me if I trust the report of the Director of Naval Construction over the unspecified calculations of a Frenchman with an axe to grind.II already did the calculations for that. I used the program SpringSharp 3.03b for my calculations. Google it to find out what it is. btw, I don't use axes, I use spears (I'm not joking on this, I'm actually trained in using one). You'll forgive me if I trust the report of the Director of Naval Construction over the unspecified calculations of a Frenchman with an axe to grind.
If the Vampire comes into existence, it will have a different designation.Mmmmh... so you got rid of poor Vanguard... you heartless bastard...
And, by the way, if the Dakota is the DH 100... what number is going to receive the de Havilland Vampire? Or there will be no Vampires for the RAF?
If I were a heathen I wouldn't have Britain build five new Battleships in the 60s.Indeed, poor Vanguard a victim of our authors heathen tendencies when it comes to ship design.
However good work on jets, Britain appears somewhat ahead of the game if the first Gloster protoype is faster than anything in service. OTL it wasn't that quick so things must be going well.
I laugh at your words.Pfff Spears! Real men fence! And use a longbow (both of which I can do)
Woops, shouldn't have mentioned a longbow with the French around.....
I laugh at your words.Real Men use high explosives.
Take a hint.
I'm technically a heathen to you since I almost always claim that I produce better ship designs than everyone else.Indeed, poor Vanguard a victim of our authors heathen tendencies when it comes to ship design.
I agree on you with Vanguard having her unique beauty, but how does she compare to other ships of her era (British and non-British)?You are however on record as hating the look of HMS Vanguard. Thus aesthetically you are heathen for not appreciating her unique beauty.
I liken the Singapore Airlift more to the Tokyo Express, albeit in the air and not on the sea. Anything more would be against the Official Secrets Act. ( Meaning massive spoilers ). I have already written up most of a typical mission for the Singapore Express, but decided not to include it because of Spoilers.Mmmmmm jet engines....... goooooood! Also, nooo my massive battleships! Gone for twenty years! Also Singapore Air lift? Sounds similar to something in OTL. Oh and also, where the hell is Market Garden going to occur!
The British have no need to play such games - history speaks for itselfI'm technically a heathen to you since I almost always claim that I produce better ship designs than everyone else.
