Very interesting response by both the americans and Canadians to their new situation. I really am curious about the parallels between the new Canada/America relationship and that of East/West Germany.
To see two countries so truly integrated detach themselves wholly from one another is extremely interesting. The logistics of a move like that would be extremely difficult. I mean, even if you were to stop the movement of people, the migration of various wildlife, the flow of rivers, and how humans can adversely affect the conditions of downstream residents on either side of the border...
Simple things like utilizing the St.Lawrence seaway for trade purposes. From Corwall to the Atlantic, the seaway is conrolled by Canada. How would that affect industry in the American heartland? the entire Ohio valley area's economy could be devesated if Canada were to shut off that avenue... At any rate, any number of issues could arise between neighbors that don't get along.
Only one quibble, which would be that Sarnia, not Ottawa is accross from Port Huron...

Bafflegab Thank you. Indeed the situation is similar to the one between West and East Germany after World War 2.
The Americans still have a lot of rebuilding to do, and much of their Industry is either destroyed beyond repair or fled to Canada when the fall of the United States seemed imminent. ( I gave them 20 extra base IC ) The American economy is still partially in tatters, but Browder is currently working on making it perform, and [possible spoilers below, highlight to read] they also look to expand their own influence in central and south America, rightfully believing that the British are preoccupied with events in Europe.
As for Canada, their economy struggeled too during the years after the revolution, but in TTL King became PM again in 1933 instead of 35, and he quickly dashed to redirect at least part of Canadas Industry back to Europe and South America, especially Brazil. That, together with the influx of US Capital, technology and Manpower in the aftermath of the Communist takeover enabled the Canadian economy to recover relatively fast. The British also increased trade relations, and that lead incindentally to something a bit like watered down Imperial Preference, but it was enver amde official policy.
The Canadians still allow American merchant traffic to traverse the St. Lawrence Channel. Should however war break out at any time or even a crisis of some sort then the Canadians will close the channel sharpish. The Border is far from impregnable, and it won't be for another decade at least, even an undamaged US economy couldn't do it any faster.
And that with Ottawa, that is a typo, I ment Ontario, it will be corrected post haste.

That reminds me, I think that the Point of Divergence must be somewhere farther back than Hoovers assasination, probably somewhere in the mid 1920s, that makes the CPUSA more agressive and hones down Hitlers and Stalins hatred of each other.
PoD? Say the 1920 US presidential election. The Democrats have lost that election, Wilson is just too hated. So if the Republican 'smoke filled room' picks someone different from Harding, someone a bit more hard line who doesn't pardon the socialist anti-war protesters but instead prolongs the Red Scare.

Having read through this AAR, I must admit that it's been a riveting tale thus far, although fewer Spitfires couldn't hurt, perhaps instead a few real-life inspired chapters on the German attempt to sabotage the prototype Mosquito?

Hmm. Well, the Germans will have their special forces victory someday. I know exactly where and have some ideas about how, but not when, sorry. THe Wooden Wonder will be one of many in TTL. I don't build TACs, but rather massive fighters. They have also some ground attack but much better air combat stats. The Mossies will have their day as escorts for my future Lancaster Bombers.

That's what the Americans call it internally, but I think I'll stick with what the rest of the world uses.

Recommended breweries are Oppigårds Bryggeri, Jämtlands Bryggerier and Nynäshamns Ångbryggeri.
Though I've heard that even the French can make great beer when they put their minds to it.
