Anyone else reminded of Zap Brannigan?
I agree, being attacked by phallic shaped countries sure is erotic.
I have problems playing England games as I have trouble defending all of my coasts.
While I had most of my fleet in the channel the AI landed about 30k troops in Scotland, its so tricky :X
But what do you do for the rest of the game after the HYW? Just go colonize and dick around with the rest of the world? Doesn't sound very fun if you ask me.

It is to me.
... I´ll leave fun out of the equation, as it´s totally subjective.
While getting majority of the commerce in the Channel is important, I would say that using large frigates squadrons to defend trade lead to better results. I easily get above 50% ''just'' by using 125 frigates to defend the node (the Holy Roman Empire is not exactly trade friendly)
Building 125 frigates and maintaining them (obviously, so many frigates are just requited in very late game) appears to me as much ''cheaper'' on the long run than taking Antwerp and actually defend it on the land.
It's now 1810 in my game, and the British Empire (and colonies) field four hundred ships of the line and well over three thousand frigates. What could be nammed ''Commowealth navies'' outnumber three to one the current (just before the next war declaration) French/Holy Roman/Portugal/Spanish/Scandinavian navies combined, without seriously taxing my income. (The beauty of frigates is that they can both add to income and ravage ennemy fleets)
1- Getting out of the continent is a DEFEAT. Period. The norman lands were part of the english kingdom for centuries. You get out, you were defeated. I for one don´t play the game to be defeated like my historical counterpart was. You don´t play Hungary to be split my ottomans and Austria - why lose as England, either?
