Gunshots
On May 15th 1948, gunshots were heard in Munich and Berlin. Hermann Goering had drove south and had organized a revolution. Bormann and Himmler also disagreed and Himmler left for Silesia to raise an army.
Munich fell the next day to Goering's forces. Revolution spread through Bavaria like a wildfire and reached Nuremburg. The Himmlerites failed to defend the city and retreated.
Japan took a neutral stance while Italy invaded Austria for 'safekeeping'. In June, Himmler surrounded Berlin while waiting for supplies. Rudolf Hess called for a truce but his request fell on deaf ears. Berlin surrendered on July 5th 1948 but Bormann was nowhere to be found. Goering sieged Berlin for 18 days until it surrendered. Himmler was captured and detained. Silesia quickly rallied to Goering to avoid destruction.
Meanwhile Bormann had fled to Cologne. His forces were crushed at Lubeck and Hamburg and by the new year, Goering was clearly winning. All through spring, Cologne held out until May when it surrendered. Frankfurt followed and the civil war ended on 29th October 1949 with Goering becoming Fuhrer of Germany.
