If you didn't have time to fix all the bugs why for the love of all that is good in the world is there no autosave feature? *tears hair out*.

So far I've played 18 hours of CiM2 and about 6 hours of that (one third of my total playtime) is lost progress because the game cracks it and shunts me back to desktop with nary an autosave in sight. It has gotten so bad that I have just rigged up a timer next to my desk to alert me every twenty minutes to make a manual save.

Is it too late for you guys to rig an autosave? I thought autosave was standard issue in games since the 90's...

It would be useful with an autosave, but in a game like this, its critical that such a feature is optional.

If people want to risk hours of their progress for no discernible reason then be it on their heads.

The issue I have with autosave, which would be solved with it being optional and preferably opt-in, is that I can't roll back to my earlier save. So I would be more cautious when building and it would kill some of the fun IMO.
Just saying, since I have nothing against it when used right.

Autosaves usually only overwrite other autosaves. Autosaves don't overwrite user made manual saves so you could still roll back easily?

I`ve had this game for the Alpha and Beta, played almost 55 hours and it has never once crashed for me, so I`m not sure why some people are having this problem..

Just because it's working for you doesn't mean it will work for everyone.

No offence, but every single time I read a useless post like this, it makes me want to repeatedly smack the person writing it. There are literally millions of PC configurations out there and it's impossible to catch all the bugs in limited, closed testing. Just because a problem wasn't discovered during beta and the game " has never once crashed" for you, it does not mean that the problem doesn't exist. FWIW, in 26 hours of play, my game locked up 8 times. Each time, I had lost some progress. The lack of an autosave feature is, to me, simply inconceivable and a gross oversight. There should have been an adjustable, separate autosave slot, as it is standard in nearly all "builder", turn-based and RTS games.

Hopefully an autosave feature will be added to a future update. I only experienced a few crash to desktop issues on the first day of playing, but since the game updated to the latest version 1.1.5 iirc, it hasn't crashed on me. But there is always the chance that it could crash for whatever reason, and I sometimes forget to save during a play session. So 2 or 3 hours in and forgetting to save and losing that is pretty rough, so I understand where you're coming from.

I'm hoping for an auto save too, or maybe even a quicksave/load feature. I'm really backing this feature as I've just lost 2 hours of my game, including a metro line that was making my profit upto $75,000.

i don't even know if i would publically admit beeing a beta tester of this game ;-)

Seriously: Something like auto save is crucial and of course this can be done in a way that manual saves and rollbacks still work. I just can't understand that - if the developers didn't have the idea - no one of the beta testers came to mind that this is important.

I had several freezes and of course the only way is the timer on the desktop - i'm having that too but it fails a bit strange and wrong.

The next thing is an undo function for building or deleting stuff. It happens so quickly that you delete a whole street instead of just a trolley rail but you can't undo. The 80's called - they wanted to have their user experience back.
