Does the Nanissaanah religion have any interesting features aside from vision quests? I'm playing as Saskatchewan going on a conquering spree, and now that I've reached the West Coast I'm wondering if I should maybe go Cetic; or, since I'm also planning on conquering the rest of the Great Lakes region and up the Saint Laurence, if I should maybe go Ursuline. Or maybe in another direction altogether, like Rust Cultist.

So, I guess my question is: which of the northerly religions are most interesting/fleshed out?

So, I guess my question is: which of the northerly religions are most interesting/fleshed out?

Cetics have a lot of interesting mechanics, but I wouldn't really call them a northerly religion. It is a fun challenge to play as Sedevecantists, although they lack unique mechanics entirely and you might have wiped out Alberta already besides.

Yeah, I guess they're not really. The map projection just throws me off, especially since most of Canada (my home country) is cut off.

Yeah, the Sedevacantists are long gone, but I'll keep them in mind for a future game! How are Gaians?

For what it's worth, adding the Muslim religion group to 00_religions in the Judaism submod seems to have fixed the issue
I'm honestly completely stumped. I've tested the submod extensively, and everyone has the same governments they did in vanilla. Maybe your version of AtE is different from the Github version somehow? I mean, I downloaded my version of AtE straight from Github and modified that, and nothing strange happened.

I mean, it makes sense that most of Canada isn't depicted in-game, because most of Canada would be uninhabitable (or at least wouldn't be able to support any kind of complex society) in the context of the setting.

Gaians are interesting if you want to do an absolute cognatic/feminist playthrough, but they have a bad habit of getting their asses handed to them by the Haida and the Cetics, so you'll have to figure out a way to prevent that from happening.

Have there been any major changes or improvements to gameplay in the past several months?
Nothing too major has happened since the big 2.7.X update. It's mostly been bugfixes, changes to in-game text, and minor gameplay improvements.

They're a feminist religion, allowing absolute cognatic and even enatic (female-preference) succession. They also have the Oregon Trail pilgrimage and a vision quest thing. I assume their vision quests are similar to the Nanissaanah, but I don't think I've ever played a Nanissaanah realm.

As far as new games go: being that you're interested in playing in Canada, there is one independent, Gaian Canuck realm in the interior of British Columbia that could make for a fun and challenging game. It's totally locked in by hostile Native realms, and your strongest potential allies—the Trailblazers far to the south—get destroyed nine times out of the ten within the first couple years.

Are there any dutch in this game?
The Pennsylvania Dutch are in the game, but they aren't actually Dutch - they speak Low German. The Hudsonian and Gothamite cultures are highly Dutch-influenced to reflect the fact that New York and New Jersey were initially colonized by the Dutch, so those cultures are probably the closest you're going to get to actual Dutch in-game. You could also try some of the Antillaanse cultures like Papiamento or Sranan, which reflect the Dutch colonial presence in the Caribbean and northern South America. (Note that, in reality, Papiamento is a Portuguese-based creole and Sranan is an English-based creole. They're just grouped together because they're both associated with Dutch colonies.)

There are no real Dutchies in the mod.

...So how about we do a Dutch invasion event? A wave of orange to provide a challenge to the Redcoats.
Nah, 1 invasion is enough from the colonials, the Red coats fit that niche, maybe traders? Could they arrive before the british on some east coast island, and they give some bonuses for trading, but risk getting taken over by the british (after the main invasion, this means that people dont just wait for the death stakes to die to AI/atrittion then clean up the mess).

Nah, 1 invasion is enough from the colonials, the Red coats fit that niche, maybe traders? Could they arrive before the british on some east coast island, and they give some bonuses for trading, but risk getting taken over by the british (after the main invasion, this means that people dont just wait for the death stakes to die to AI/atrittion then clean up the mess).
