I think that's a bug. Have you tried the latest Github build?
Yep, and it's been an issue for a long time that any culture that uses the default (non-DLC) cultural white faces have black hair. Now, if an individual character receives the Diversity Event, they'll have hair with color because their ethnicity is set to (white) instead of something like (Portlander).

The problem is the diversity event chance is low, and it should remain low since it has a chance to overwrite DLC portraits like Amerodeitsch (German/English) and Gallomerican (Iberian/Romance).

That's an issue I noticed a long time ago when I first used the ruler designer with the mod. I don't think there's a proper fix outside of changing the ethnicity of every character from their culture to white/black/chinese or whatever.

Sorry if this was changed a few weeks ago, I haven't played for the last few weeks. Shouldn't The Deceleration artifact also have the condition that would allow them to equip the artifact if they owned the Empire of America? For example, in vanilla CK2 you can use the Derafsh Kaviani (Sassanian royal banner) if you are Holder of the Empire of Persia Holder or Kingdom of Persia even if you aren't in the Iranian culture group or Zoroastrian.

I'm loving this game as occultist but I'm having trouble making that hurdle to reform them. My main problems are at least negative 12-20 moral authority at any given time due to other occultist loosing holy wars. That and going up against the kingdom of Hudsonia is a daunting prospect and they control 3 of the holy sites. Anyone got any tips?

Hudsonia is usually Gavelkind and actually 3 kingdoms, it should split up on a decent succession. Wait and plot for your time to strike.

Thank you for such a quick reply. I'll sit in my kingdom plotting and building my forces. The king is old and has a enough kids to fracture the place if the AI hasn't changed the laws. I'll also see if I can use my chancellor to sow discontent in the meantime.

Are you sure about that? Hudsonia is, as far as I know, only one kingdom that usually is pretty stable until it gets knocked around by some form of outside invasion. It has fairly loyal vassals that will convert, so long as Deitscherei maintains control of it's Holy sites to the south for at least one, maybe two, decades.

I find that once you control New England (all of New England), and have about a dozen or so single county vassals, war with Hudsonia becomes much more manageable. You go into Albany with a nice strong spearhead assault, while your vassals swarm around you. Hudsonia will require either two Holy wars, or two claims. With Holy Wars, I usually wait until someone has taken care of Deitscherei (someone always seems to). Manhattan, however, is usually captured or ransacked at this point, or is otherwise so weak, it cannot support the troops to resist an entire New-England Army.
For the first plan to work, you do need to have tribal authority at 3rd level or lower. You need your vassals entire army, otherwise Hudsonia will (usually) be able to take care of you.

I think this is a bug. The East Coast- from central Mississippi to Vermont- seems to be at 18 Economic and Culture tech, while the same area up to Maine has 18 Military tech.

Try going past that date at the slowest speed. It's worked for me every time I had that issue.

EDIT: I had a very silly idea for an AAR; the Last Saskatchewan Pirate. You play as one of the nomads in Saskatchewan, use the ruler designer to make them Brethren, and try to expand down to New Mexico.

Columbia probably refers to the romanticized representation of America, just like the HRE refers to the old Roman Empire.

Columbia is somewhat of a poetic name for the US of A, and given the AtE Southrons' fascination with the antique (down to Antiquity-inspired names like Leonidas), they probably adopted it to sound pompous, to garner dignity.

My personal headcanon is that the empire's original center was in Columbia, SC (or possibly Columbus, GA) but shifted locations as each new dynasty sought to make their own ancestral seats into palaces and political hubs.

As mentioned above, though, the symbolic implications are important as well.

Does ruler designer agree with this mod? I know it doesn't work with other mods, but this one doesn't seem too far from the norm, so I'm wondering if it works with this mod.
The vanilla ruler designer is fully compatible with AtE.
