I guess instead of taking up more time by waiting for an answer to that, I'll just go ahead and report the bug, seeing as how I'm already here.
So there I was playing as a descendant of the illustrious House Wayne. I had given up my Jeffersonian heresy long ago when I saw that they had no religious head. I decide to declare war on South Jersey, when all of a sudden the President dies and I'm a candidate. I felt a thrill go through me as I vied for control, slandering all who stood in my path. Finally, after weeks of campaigning, the polls are on my side. I have finally realized the American Dream. But then, it all comes crashing down. *doo-do-do-doo-doo-doo* I hear the familiar sound of pizzicato violin (or maybe it's a lute) and see the familiar "So be it" of a new patrician resigned to be subordinate to his bitter rivals. As soon as I close the screen, however, I find the Presidential election screen behind it. On the same day that I died in glorious battle against the hated Jerseyites, I had been elected as the President of the United states. Unfortunately however, since the death occurred before I technically held office, it didn't fire the event to elect a new President. It's been about a hundred years and I still don't have a President. My first idea to fix this would be to stick in a new event which fires if the President title has been un-held for a couple years or so, but you might be able to come up with a more graceful solution.
