I would probably change the "Algonquian" culture to Cree. Algonquian is a name for a language family that has Cree, Ojibwe, and many many other first nations. It'd be like having Italy be "Romance" in culture.

That culture is the algonquin, not the Algonquian language family. And it refers to a specific native group that lives in eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. The Cree are already in the mod, but they could have a presence in eastern Canada in the mod.

I know it's been asked before, but how does one play as the Figurehead Emperor? Despite my many hours in the game, I'm ultimately still sort of a noob, so I'm having trouble thinking of ways to expand far enough to reassert power. I know inviting claimants is a big part of it, but how do I get the pressed claims to remain under my control without first having land to give them?

I've figured out that ghost issue I had when playing as a New York patrician. Basically the "ghosting" ai issue seems to be tied with the batman event. I've played several times as the different patrician families (Wayne, Laggard, Longacre, Falcone) and it all comes down to either the batman event enabling itself or not appearing.

If you press someone's claim to a title that is in your de jure Empire, they will be vassalized by you if you win. Even though the Emperor is a figurehead, he's still the de jure emperor of all of California.

Pressing claims is really only worthwile for four reasons:

- If it is in your de jure territory, the newly installed claimant will become your vassal
- If it is a lower rank title than yours and the claimant is of your dynasty, the newly installed claimant will become your vassal
- Divide and conquer strategy. Pressing (certain) claims on a large-ish power that might threaten you is a good way to split them apart. Just be prepared for them to try reconquering the new splinter states.
- Roleplaying. Perhaps you like the claimant, you're not doing anything else and the enemy is weak? Et cetera.

Oh, that's right! I remembered that pressing a vassal or dynasty member's claim will let you keep the land, I forgot that having de jure claim on the land does the same. That makes things much easier, thanks!

Wait, wait, wait. a Batman event? Why haven't I heard of this? I need to play New York more often. How does this event start?

Play as Thom of the Wayne patrician family in New York City. If I recall, you'll soon get an event where you and your wife are assassinated, and your son gets a ton of good traits and the title "The Bat".

They are still fighting for the King or Queen, so either they should be incoprated somehow, whether as dieties, a figurehead
like California or mythical people I do not know.

Does anyone else have the problem of the mod not recognizing the game's rules for unlimited demesne and vassals? I love this mod to death, but I also love that rule a great deal. Combining the two would be incredible.

Any idea if having a demense size limit of 0 even when I've got unlimited demense is due to any sort of bug? I'm incurring huge penalties because of this.

Sounds like an integer overflow error.

I saw kev01pr and Master Inventor discussing it, something about an integer overflow, but I didn't see any answer for it.

Anyone got any ideas about it?

Someone put out an ATE submod on the Steam Workshop called "During the End". I haven't tried it yet and I don't actually know if I'm going to, but I figured it would be nice to at least mention it here.

I've tried it.

Doesn't work at all. It's supposed to set you back to 2077, but it just sets you to the normal ATE start date. Hopefully it gets fixed.

Currently, my plan is for Thelemic Britain to be ruled by a Lord Protector, notionally subservient to their weird Lovecraftian Queen but for mechanical reasons essentially an independent ruler in their own right. Similar to the Japanese Shogunate in vanilla EU4, which is also useful here because Japan also has an unavailable semi-divine Emperor. The "true" rulers themselves could be explored through events and such.

On Britain:
I want to keep things as close to the canon established in AtE as possible so I think making the British Isles anything but Thelemic is a retcon too far, but the idea of splitting up their homelands with smaller hostile nations is a good one. I had an idea for a joke in the context of the CKII mod where American Christians believe the Redcoats are fighting with "Presbyterian John" across the ocean, so that could be a starting point. Once the full map is in a workable state we'll see how things balance out and what is needed from a gameplay standpoint.

On Australia:
@Trudon21 has it pretty well. EU4's Australia uses the Eureka flag, so obviously that has to include Ballarat, which means BabaKiueria has to be to the north. I had spent some time thinking about divisions that might be used in an AtE-ish Australia setting but there isn't enough space on the EU4 map for a lot of them and I'm still not sure how many extra provinces ought to be added, if any.
First, I want to make another push for thelematic pilgrims. Does the game actually imply that the queen actually rules all of England, or that the thelmatics are the majority religion of the island? She's a figurehead it's plausible that her de facto territory doesn't include the entire area and the religion is a little hedonistic and sacrificey. It isn't that much of a stretch that the local populous isn't loyal to their figurehead queen. Honestly, I don't think it would be that different from having England fractured.

Also, does the thelmatic religion have lovecraftian influences? I was under the impression that it was purely Crowlian.

First, I want to make another push for thelematic pilgrims. Does the game actually imply that the queen actually rules all of England, or that the thelmatics are the majority religion of the island?
Yes:
As the practitioners of British Thelmic law grow in strength to form a church like that of their mother country, they draw a new sort of attention from overseas. At the very moment of the Ipsissimus's initiation, a group of British knights lands upon the Rock of Plymouth itself. Martial pilgrims from the Old World, they are the Ordo Templi Orientalist, the warriors of the legendary demon known only as The Crowley. Here to establish a foothold, they call their new organization the Ordo Templi Occidentalis, the western arm of their order. Though similar in many aspects to the legendary brotherhood of the Masons, they claim secret universal knowledge and powerful, ancient magic. Of course, followers of the native religions scoff at these claims, but few doubt their martial power and less still will speak about the inhuman rites witnessed upon moonless nights.
Although it does include a few pilgrim shout outs it makes it perfectly clear that the "mother country" has an established Thelemic church, and I don't want to retcon that.

She's a figurehead it's plausible that her de facto territory doesn't include the entire area and the religion is a little hedonistic and sacrificey. It isn't that much of a stretch that the local populous isn't loyal to their figurehead queen. Honestly, I don't think it would be that different from having England fractured.
I don't object to having some areas of the British Isles independent and following different religions, I just don't want to retcon the Redcoats into a peculiar religious minority that is all but unknown in Europe.

Also, does the thelmatic religion have lovecraftian influences? I was under the impression that it was purely Crowlian.
The Queen worship is purely fictional, an elaboration on Thelema for the purposes of the setting. I believe it's mostly a reference to A Study in Emerald by Neil Gaiman and dates back to a point in the mod's history where the Redcoats were Occultists. Nevertheless, it's been woven into the particular take on Thelema and makes as much sense as the changes to any other religion in the mod.

I have an idea; perhaps the Thelemic English could rule the British isles, but have it set up in such a way that they suffer lots of rebellions and that they have a good chance of collapsing in game. This could be done by having lots of religious minorities, and making their missionaries bad. As for which religions specifically, you could go the easy route and have much of England High Church and much of Ireland catholic, or we could create new religions in that area.

I did not know that bit about redcoats being occultists at one point, and I will admit that I over looked the text from that event. I agree about not making them a small sect. When I thought of it the first time I didn't envision a one to one comparison. I was kind of thinking they would be on the retreat. Very much like the byzantines are at the beginning of eu4. Contrasted to the pilgrims who were a religious minority (although I wouldn't say they were largely unknown throughout Europe simply because they were part of the larger reformation which and could be linked to the other reformation movements many of whom could be considered to be largely unknown) challenging the established church, the thelmatics are the established church being succefully challenged by religious dissenters. I would like to point out no where in that event you cited does it say the church is in a particularly strong place, only that it is established.

Edit: and the invasion of America was An attempt by certain thelmatics to leave the home island and take their chances elsewhere. If Im understand what your attempting to do with England correctly, perhaps they could be a seperate thelmatic "kingdom."

Your proposal has been noted. When the mod is in a place where thinking about game balance makes sense, it will be considered further. If you want to help to get it to that place pm me.
