I second that. I think that the Caribbean cultures like Haitian and West Indian should use the west African portraits, while Motowner and/or Tuskegean should use the east African portraits. If you have the west African portrait pack but not the East African one, all of those cultures should use the west African portrait pack.

And viceversa, if you have RD content pack but no african faces dlc, you should get all of them using the east african assets.

Wait, there are East African AND West African portraits? Also, are there any characters using the Turkish face pack because one of the mesoamerican characters appears Asian and I know that Turkish culture defaults to Mongol faces if you don't have the Turkish face pack (or the cuman or the other steppe portraits)

Just wanted to drop by and say that I have been having an absolute blast playing this mod for the last few days; it is very quickly becoming my favorite mod for CKII.

I have encountered what seems to be a bug in my kingdom of Socal playthrough, however. Although I completely control the duchy of Death Valley and have it as a vassal, I can't create the kingdom of Death Valley. While it says that I own all the de jure provinces, the conditions say that it can never be created. The kingdom shows up in the de jure map mode so I just found it pretty odd. I would suggest just making the kingdom de jure part of Socal and perhaps Death Valley could be a titular title.

Also I have the Corners of the Earth Building Pack which I assume is not supported as the structures are just randomly floating in the Pacific Ocean southwest of California. Is it possible to change the location of them? If so, then I have a few ideas for where they could all be better placed. For example, the pyramids could be placed in Las Vegas as a reference to the Luxor. Alternatively, you could place it in Little Egypt. I have more ideas about the rest of them if they seem interesting.

They're part of the Reaper's Due content pack (also, how has nobody made an Overwatch joke about that DLC title yet?). You should look at those portraits, they look great.

I found a small bug with regards to the Miclantec faith; they seem to be able to marry anyone.

Here, the queen of Hudsonia married the Miclantec butcher doc that you can get as a random event, and in the same playthough, one of the Miclantec queens who I am currently in the middle of stomping into the dust as the Sagrado Corazon king of Mexico offered a matrilineal betrothal between her and one of my excess sons. I don't think this is intended behaviour.

Can I ask something? The Caribbean Empire is supposed to be super unstable, right? Well sadly as it is it's easy to stabilize it because so many of the dukes don't have heirs, or even wives, so if they die in the first few years then all their titles(which frequently is the entire duchy because they didn't have any counts under them) go to the Empress, and the religious disunity throughout the empire makes it so there's amble supply of folks who want other folks dead...

this lets you set up same culture and religion rulers in their place, and get the nice "gave title" opinion boost with all of them.

So adding one or two heirs for each of them(bothers, sons, uncles, maybe a distant out of realm dynasty member, ect) would go a long way to maintaining the challenge of keeping the Caribbean together.

There's a mercenary company of rust cultists based off of them in San Francisco. Steel Brotherhood, I think
They're based out of Mariposa, fittingly. If the Rust Cult is reformed there'll also form a Midwestern Brotherhood holy order based out of Chicago (the event explaining this even has the Midwestern Brotherhood be a breakaway faction of the Steel Brotherhood).

It is intended for Miclantec and Sagrado Corazon characters to be able to intermarry (nearly all the Central American religions can intermarry, it seems). As for the physician thing, I'm pretty sure you can always marry your courtiers regardless of religious differences so this is really more a vanilla issue regarding the AI's willingness to do so (you can see in the main forum a few examples of Muslim Saxons that arise from similar issues with physicians).

As far as I can see, there is no culture in 0.8 wich uses the new east african faces. Is there any plan to implement them? Personally, I find them more good-looking and fitting than the old west african ones.

I like how it works now. The west african ones are used if you activate the optional mod
and if you don't, it's all the east african ones, so you get to choose.
So they are kind of already 100% implemented, you just have to turn off the west african faces mod.

As cool as the portraits look, I can't shake the feeling that the are scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to portrait packs. Paradox, does you mad face obsession know no bounds? Will you not rest until every county has its own face pack? Are we doomed to do this until you release the Ulm face pack as the trumpets sound?

I feel like you should modify or replace this event to reflect the status of the Papacy in ATE:

Even replacing "Rome" with "New Rome" and "Tiber" with "Mississippi" would fix it.

I changed the text to reflect the setting. In the past we re-localized dozens of vanilla events to refer to locations in the New World, but I'm sure we missed plenty more like the Cadaver Synod. We appreciate pointing out ones we've missed.
