That would be a relatively simple change. In the culture folder, just change the .gfx of the relevant cultures to indiangfx or whatever the actual term for it is.
I'm hoping it will be in the actual released mod in the future though, not just a local, personal modification.

What's the possibility of adding Hindu or Indian elements to the culture of Trinidad/Tobago and Guyana?
They actually celebrate Diwali on Trinidad, for example, and pretty sure they do in Guyana/Suriname as well.

It would make a lot of sense. The Guyanas and nearby islands are populated largely by Middle Eastern and South Asian workers. If there's one place in the mod that should have another old-world religion, or something derived from one, it's that region. I've suggested a few times a syncretic mixture of faiths; an element of Islam, popular in the region; an element of Buddhism; an element of Hinduism; Sikhism; and even some Christianity. A bit similar to the Cetics, but much less of a focus on enlightenment and enlightened individuals and more South/Southwest Asian than East Asian. I'm picturing a formable caliphate for anyone who's achieved a corrupted form of Nirvana through an event chain or decision, Allah/God at the head of a pantheon of lesser gods and spirits, a more pacifist attitude, stuff like that. Makes sense given the region's ethnically and religious varied population and makes for a really fun, interesting religion. Plus it avoids balkanizing the area by filling it up with 5 religions, or something like that.

Last I checked, it almost always succeeded because of some looping issue forcing you to become atomicist to end the event chain. That was a while ago though; based on your response, you probably fixed that issue.

It would be cool if they believed that there's one god called God/Allah but he's simultaneously the rest of the pantheon. Monotheists with lots of gods. Then you can pick your preferred god/aspect of god. So Jesus, Krishna, Bhudda, Mary, Ganesha, maybe even Ahura Mazda, Shaytan, and an atomist style Vishnu.

I wonder if divine marriage can be turned on by a trait. That would be cool for any followers of Ahura Mazda.

EDIT: it kind of makes me think of game of thrones actually. The son, the blue prince, the enlightened one, the mother, the fortunate elephant, the light of the flame, the rebel, and death, destroyer of worlds.

Not faith of the seven in ATE please. Although I could see the idea of a polytheistic religion with the monotheistic god (God, Jehova and Allah)

So, modern Hinduism. I am not sure if you are aware, but the religions have already undergone a fair amount of syncretism, for instance, Buddha is considered by many to be the ninth incarnation of Vishnu, Sikhism was born as a way to bridge the divide between the mayor Hindus and their Muslim rulers, and a lot of Hindu practices have the same Aryan root as Zoroastrian beliefs. In my opinion, Hinduism would probably win the region simply because of how easy it is to syncretize with.

That was jsut an after thought. I was actually thinking more something along the lines of hinduism in vanilla but waaaay more syncretic and everyone accepts that there's one actual god he's just got lots of aspects.

Some sects of Hinduism do kinda see the whole pantheon, or at least a good chunk of it, as one individual with many aspects already. So it wouldn't be that weird an idea to sync with other monotheistic faiths.

Some schools of thought are heavily monistic (or pantheistic, I always confuse the two) in which everything is Brahman and the apparent differences are merely an illusion.

Oh, I'm aware. That's why I think we're likely to see a lot of syncretism in the region, it has a historical precedent. I'm not sure it'd be so much like modern Hinduism, though, nor would the belief systems necessarily share the name. I see more a mix of traditions than the absorption of them, something more along the lines of Sikhism, as you said, or the Hepthalite religion, which was a little bit steppe, a little bit Zoroastrian, a little bit Gnostic and a little bit Brahmic.

I figured that in areas like Guyana where Hindus are a much larger group than any other religion in the region they would form the base of the new religion, therefore setting the terms of the new religion. If I recall correctly, the other religions aren't as big a Hinduism in the area, and wouldn't be equal "partners" in the new syncretic belief.

My thoughts were along the lines of another Afro-Syncretic religion with heavy elements of Hinduism (for example, celebrate Diwali).
I don't think anything like a caste system would be transferred over, though.

Are there Mardi Gras/Carnivale events for the Afro-Syncretic religions yet?

Are there Mardi Gras/Carnivale events for the Afro-Syncretic religions yet?
Not that I'm aware of, but that would be amazing (with the largest Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans and Mobile; I haven't been to the Mardi Gras parade in ages); This could also be extended to Gulfards, Cajuns, Tuskegeans, and Creoles along the holdings in (and/or near) the Gulf Coast

That'd be interesting. Although, they'd have to create a religion themselves, because, as far as I know, no such religion exists. The decision must be made regarding what parts are in and what are out. Also, I imagine the Brahmin caste would remain as that seems to be one of the most enduring parts of the caste system.

I'm not sure if this has been suggested or not, but I think the county of Bull Run should be Beltway culture instead of Southron culture to model the differences between Northern Virginia and the rest of Virginia.

I am new to this mod and I was wondering: are you planning on expanding the map into the Andes region of South America?

It'd be nice, but they've said no more extensions further south are planned for fear of straining the game on poorer systems (and even good ones, for that matter). I'd like it a lot as well, but that may be wishful thinking; who knows, though? I believe they never planned to even go this far south, but I wouldn't count on a similar such occurrence.
