Want to introduce the Inca religion and give them some addition CB, gonna make experiments with the mod.
Ok, everyone i created a thread for the europe-based ATE mod. Want a link?
I think 9 days is the longest I've ever seen the github go without an update. I hope the devs are taking a much deserved break to recharge.
I've been definitely recharging and trying to not get totally burnt out. I'm also scrambling a bit more with rl work and budgeting/planning to see some relatives in the nearish future, so yeah, AtE's been moved down in my list of priorities temporarily while I'm just getting shit sorted out.I'm working on defining Californian provinces and tweaking some other things (like the game over screen and title histories/expanded dynasties in a few places) but I think the others are recharging, snowed in or busy IRL, yeah.
So now i'm thinking of makling a europe based after the end mod.
Now I didn't say anything at the time, but don't take that silence as either endorsement or outright rejection. You're welcome to do as you want, but you aren't part of this team, and whatever you concoct we'll probably just ignore and continue doing whatever comes to mind ourselves.Ok, everyone i created a thread for the europe-based ATE mod. I mean I'm okay with people using most of anything from this mod, and I'm alright with people doing whatever with what they have, but conversely I'm gonna just truck along and keep doing whatever I darn well please.Lol good thing Paradox isn't like most of these mod teams or there would be no mod teams.
Nah, didn't mean that, just that while it is an honor for someone to be inspired by this mod, I/we probably aren't going to consider it 'canon' or any such like, and will just keep on doing whatever and say whatever comes to mind for Europe ourselves.Oh ok. I thought you were mad at the guy and being kind of vitriolic. So i'm sorry I misunderstood you. It just kind of bugged me it seemed like you were mad you inspired some one to try modding with your good work.
It's cool. The whole thing's a mess because I've kinda checked out a little (see above) and didn't respond in a timely fashion to the first query, which would've clarified things well earlier on.Got you, sorry again.

Do you reckon Paradox went and asked the pope if a game based on western christendom and the crusades was cool with him? Ideas want to be free, and on the internet they de facto are. There's no sense in trying to limit other folks because you're worried they might not make something as good as what you made, or whatever your motivation is.Point of order: There is no problem with the base "you inspired me to make a post-apocalyptic mod in Europe" thing. That's fine. What I objected to - and what Ofaloaf said he isn't going to consider canon - is the "I'm going to go ahead and make this mod in your setting without so much as asking for an OK" deal.
Are you really gonna do much more with defining canon for Europe though? You already have British invaders set, and I don't see any reason why there'd need to be any more defined from America's perspective. What stands in the way of allowing an other mod to define a kind of "expanded universe" level of canon?Especially since in the opening post of his thread, he claims to be establishing parts of our setting for us. I'd have been much less harsh about it if he'd asked, as opposed to just going "I'm going to do this." I stand by my initial reply, that while I'm all for a post-apocalyptic mod in Europe (is it just me or are almost all post-apocalypse things set in the States? Only exceptions that come to mind are Threads and the Metro series), I'd prefer for him not to associate it with AtE in any way.
