Calling it the Imperial Church seems slightly off, since aside from the title of its leader there doesn't seem to be much Imperial about the Holy Columbian Confederacy. Unfortunately, the obvious name (Confederate(d) Church) is already taken by the Canucks. Southron Church? Take the comedy option and rename it the Mega Church? Or maybe the whole event chain with the HCC's religious woes could include some bits about reforming and centralizing power around the figure of the Emperor, and then the more "imperial" trappings might be appropriate.

Okay, take two on what I posted a while ago; to add more flavour to the Evangelical's, I have been coding a few events

The Evangelical Reformation
...snip...
Seems very interesting, but I would suggest against trying to do too much. A simpler set of events would be a lot easier to write and less likely to create nasty bugs (which we have plenty of already). I'm recommending simplicity because I will test for bugs, copyedit, and balance anything that gets added to the mod... so if it's too complex for me to easily check it will probably not get added.

I don't think additional heresies are needed... Charismatic, Antinomian, and High Church would be plenty (possibly some lunatics becoming Revelationist or Voodoo). The "Imperial Church" mechanics and restrictions on forming the empire are beyond the scope of what I'd want to add. Returning to the status quo with no Evangelical MA penalty would be plenty.

Should the emperor have a way to stop or postpone the initial event if he has high learning or high moral authority? The Council of Augusta should at least have a chance to succeed, perhaps reducing the impact of the monk's ideas (or spreading them faster) depending on the diplomacy/learning/intrigue skills of the emperor. Be sure to think of how the events function if you're playing the emperor; I wouldn't want the decision to call the Council of Augusta to be made on my behalf.

If you still have the scripts and localization text I can take a look at it.

For the consideration of the devs (and anyone else who is interested) I made a tiny edit to the localization of the cetic bureaucratic government titles, to try to get them to fit the theme a bit.

Code:
bureaucracy_baron;Commissioner;;;;;;;;;;;;;x
bureaucracy_baron_female;Commissioner;;;;;;;;;;;;;x
bureaucracy_barony_of;Department of;;;;;;;;;;;;;x
bureaucracy_count;Magistrate;;;;;;;;;;;;;x
bureaucracy_count_female;Magistrix;;;;;;;;;;;;;x
bureaucracy_county_of;County of;;;;;;;;;;;;;x
bureaucracy_duke;Prefect;;;;;;;;;;;;;x
bureaucracy_duke_female;Prefect;;;;;;;;;;;;;x
bureaucracy_duchy_of;Prefecture of;;;;;;;;;;;;;x
bureaucracy_king;Imperial Protector;;;;;;;;;;;;;x
bureaucracy_king_female;Imperial Protectress;;;;;;;;;;;;;x
bureaucracy_kingdom_of;State of;;;;;;;;;;;;;x
bureaucracy_emperor;Celestial Emperor;;;;;;;;;;;;;x
bureaucracy_emperor_female;Celestial Empress;;;;;;;;;;;;;x
bureaucracy_empire_of;Celestial Empire of;;;;;;;;;;;;;x

Tell me what y'all think. I tried to base it off of Three Kingdoms / Warring States China, because that seems to be the general flavor intended for California (correct me if I'm wrong please, I'm not trying to screw up someone else's vision.

Seems very interesting, but I would suggest against trying to do too much. A simpler set of events...

Okay, I managed to find my code and localisation. I want to re-do some of it and take into account some of your comments for the first sequence of events; basically, the Westphalia Treatise has a small chance of firing at any point, but becomes increasingly likely with lower MA, and the initial event will cause a small drop in MA; the Emperor is able to then either ignore it, with a small chance of the ideas being left ignored and a higher chance of heresy beginning to spread, or holding the council, which can then have its own effects from there; either through high stats they can take apart the monks arguments, with the MA hit being removed, they can mitigate the damage, or things will get much, much worse MA-wise.

From there, I'd add in various follow-on events with a random chance; Charismatic and Antinomian revivals, for example, and I'd like to add in events for Americanist, Revelationist and Mormon preachers converting provinces and nobles, similar to the Atomicist revivals.

I do think some changes would be good; I'd like to see the church gain the powers of excommunication, for example, if the Emperor restores the Convention, but its your choice.

I want to allow Americanists and Jeffersonians to call Crusades. Besides for adding in "can_call_crusade=yes" to the file, do I need to do anything to make it work?

This mod calls the leader of Nomadic Government Types a "Horse Lord" I think that's neat, but a leader of a Clan is still called a "Khan". Can I suggest we rename Clan leaders to "Sharf". As a reference to the War Sharfs in Wild Horse Woman.

I don't know if heresy's have been added for the Cetic's, if they have not I would suggest one that rejects the divine authority of the emperor. Possibly thinking the Guru's should be in charge

Another suggestion would be that if the Yudkow's are deposed, there is a chance that a pretender claiming to be a Yudkow or the reincarnation of the first emperor rises to claim the title back.

...or the reincarnation of the first emperor rises to claim the title back.
You mean the legendary Emperor Norton I, mentioned in the most ancient and fabled of Gran Franciscan texts, will be reincarnated to re-take the Californian throne and lead the Cetic faithful back to glory?
Those other pretenders won't stand a chance.

My dad grew up in Eastern Kentucky and told me that, according to his mother, the Man in the Moon was put there as punishment for burning brush on Sunday. I thought that could be a fun thing to incorporate into a Revelationist event. I'll try to ask him for some more Appalachian folklore, if you'd be interested. I'll actually probably ask him anyway, because I'm interested, but I'd be happy to share it with you.

Another question: why is the religious head of the Libertarians a man? The in-game lore makes it seem like he should be a she. Is there any way to change that?
IKR. I've never understood why the matriarchal Libertarians always have a male religious head. The Ursulines have enatic temple succession; why don't the Libertarians?
