There was a discussion a few pages back about buildings, and it got me thinking: what would be the state of the Statue of Liberty? How long can it plausibly last without maintainance?

I don't remember any reference to the Statue of Liberty from Americanists. It seems like one of those icons that should endure even if the statue no longer physically exists, no?
The Libertarians description does mention the Statue of Liberty by name. Well, kinda.

"The devoted of Lady Liberty, the Mother of Old America and the Goddess of Freedom, the Libertarians were once a matriarchal Patriotic order of the Americanists dedicated to the defence and restoration of the Statues of Liberty, who broke from Washington in protest against the 'overemphasis' of the Founders over Lady Liberty."

Is it just me or there are no playable rulers in Cote-Nord at the start of the game?

We haven't added starting characters yet but you can play Cote-Nord by starting the game, saving on day 1, go back to the main menu, load the save and by selecting a new character in Cote-Nord.

Has anyone else noticed that the Interstate is almost always blocked? I think it is an artifact of them being blocked by any ongoing siege, which includes raiders, and how all tribal govs can now raid (so most of the New England area are able to raid, and Manhattan is usually targeted). Before, raiding was limited to the relevant religions only, the Norse and Pirates (and maybe some others?)

Also, somewhat annoyed at the range limits on the Interstate trade post buildings. I can't build the second level in Detroit, because there is one already in Chicago, which is 195 distance units away. (The building requires at least 200 distance.)

I think you'll mostly want to blame the Haida for that one. Their constant raiding of the Californian coasts means that quite often the interstate will be blocked more or less at the source. Though if you're on the east coast, I imagine that probability dictates that there'll be something somewhere cutting you off more often than not.

There's also one of the origin point dots in Manhattan, which also gets raided a lot. (I'm in Michigan, for reference, hence the mention of wanting to build an Interstate trade post in Detroit.)

Also, I noticed that one of the interstate junctions doesn't appear to connect properly in Harris:



I've also spotted what appears to be a bug in the main game, involving capturing inland trade posts via great holy wars. Were the mechanics of what happens on_success of a crusade changed for this mod?

The statue would probably last only 300 years without maintenance, before it falls to pieces into NY Harbor. Naturally, the Torch-bearing arm would go first. The pedestal would be the only thing remaining.

Surprisingly long, if the Apocalypse didn't involve worldwide earthquakes. The Statue of Liberty could probably be compared to the Colossus of Rhodes, which lasted 50 or so years with pre-industrial tools, until an earthquake snapped it at the legs and it fell to the ground. The statue of liberty, being bronze like the Colossus, but much more stable, could conceivably last until the start of AtE so long as proper care, tools or no tools, was given to it. It certainly wouldn't look as good as it does today, but it could survive with a few missing pieces and some corrosion. Of course, a violent earthquake or a massive storm could damage the Statue to the point where it couldn't be repaired without simply rebuilding it.

Of course, there is no reason why they couldn't make a reasonable facsimile every time it fell down. If the ancient Greeks could build a giant bronze statue, why not post-apocalyptic Americans?

So, I was just noticing that both they High Church and Ursuline can have anti-popes just like Catholics. But, when looking at the religion tab, both faiths lack any sort of interface to do so.

Oh, most of it is there, but as it doesn't actually list any of your religious vassals, you can't make them anti-popes/archbishop/abbbess-general.

Also, despite in the files saying that they use investiture, neither faith has access to the Investiture crown law.

Well, they could just revere the head and the tablet, which fell of long ago but have been propped up pleasingly.
And then the Libertarian Order could have restored the head, leaving the good burghers of New York to set it up as a display for Americanist pilgrims. The Americanist pilgrims would be charged to gaze upon/go into it, of course.

Also, the description for the Libertarians mentions "statues of Lady Liberty" in the plural sense, implying that they were also responsible for the task of restoring all the Statue of Liberty impostors dotted around the nation as well. Goes well with the fact that their religious head resides in the Nashville Parthenon.

In a recent game, I noticed revelationists had reformed pretty early on, but remained a pagan religion - I was under the impression that revelationism was supposed to morph into charismatic once it was at the point of reform? I'm a little ignorant about the whole process, as I've stayed away from playing revelationists mostly, but I am curious about the possible outcomes.

Any suggestions for a new game? I've formed the rust reich in the Great Lakes, a Cherokee lone star empire and have about 4 aborted random games from all around. What areas are more fleshed out and playable? And how exactly does California work? Seems like it inevitably picks up steam in my games, which I like. But what exactly is the end goal? Can you get rid of the figurehead emperor modifier?

Try a game as Michoacan. Restore the glory of the Aztecs. You rule as a god, you get to sacrifice prisoners for piety, and it's fun trying to nab land from the giant mess of Sagrado Corazon rulers.

Yes, you can get rid of the figurehead trait. Start a game as the Emperor to see what the requirements are.

If you play as someone other than the Emperor, seizing control of the imperial throne may destroy the title entirely or give you figurehead trait (depending on how high your learning/diplomacy is).

I'm playing as an americanist, and somehow the president accuse me of "controller of antipope" although I'm not backing any antipope.
Is this a bug? If so, is there any way to fix it?

Yeah, I played until I almost formed the empire of mexico but then I realized that eventually all my vassal kings might become incarnates. Also I picked the wrong culture so I didn't get localized titles. And no honorary titles were available to me aside from designated regent, which was kind of lame. Plus the forts look like castles when they could easily look more mesoamerican. I like the playstyle, it's just that a lot of things made it sort of old fast. Also, the sagrados seem to fall apart pretty quickly if you press them hard. Sometimes the nahua to the north do pretty well. I just think there are a few things that could be improved. Like, some kind of invasion casus belli? a county-level 'miclantec reconquest' casus belli? something to break it up from endless holy wars and standard forge-claims-and-press gameplay. Considering you are a 'literal' god incarnate in the eyes of your people (unless you do something very, very wrong), I kind of feel like miclantec rulers should get something more special than free executions for prestige and a few events and aztec faces.
