After Purchasing SoA game causes total system crash on startup

Hi, i bought SoA, then when i start the game, everything blacks out, and the computer must be hard reset

I am not running mods, and i tried to run the game without SoA, no dice. I have verified my files, and redownloaded the game (steam)

Could you post a DxDiag of your system?

* Open your Start menu
* Type "dxdiag" in the search field (without quotes)
* Open the dxdiag program
* A window called "DirectX Diagnostic Tool" should pop up now
* At the bottom right-hand side, click on "Save all information"
* Save it to a place where you can find it easily, for example your desktop

Hey, i updated my Graphics driver to the most recent version, but i'm still getting the issue, is there anything else which may be causing it?

As I suggest for him as well, please try a full clean install

Important: Go to '..\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\save games\' and copy all the save games you want to keep outside the folder
* Uninstall Crusader Kings II
Steam users:[/B] uninstall the game from within steam by right clicking on the game and select "Delete content"
* Go to the folder where you installed Crusader Kings II in, and check if the Crusader Kings II folder is removed. If not, delete the entire folder
Steam users:[/B] Installation folder can be found at: '..\Steam\SteamApps\common\'
* Go to '..\My Documents\Paradox Interactive\' and remove the entire Crusader Kings II folder
* Install the game, make sure you install the game outside the 'C:\Program Files\' or 'C:\Program Files (x86)\' folders, as it can cause issues with permissions

Are you sure the video driver updated? That's a problem we used to get a year or two ago, with older video drivers.
