The W2W theme sounds very cool but, as I expected, something is really wrong.

if you build some high density commercials outside your city, at intersections or eventually close an agricultural area, they appear as W2W buildings making the city looking really wrong.

So, I can only have low density commercial outside main cities,if I want the city looking correct. The big commercial that are inside cities of course look correctly.

So, Euro theme is awesome but without any flexibility I really don't care now. I will unlock the unique buildings, but I will play the non-themed maps. No W2W buildings, but at least the city look as they should.

Definitely needs more flexibility. European cities don't consist of just wall-to-wall buildings. I know, because I happen to live in one. The core of the city looks very much like the W2W buildings in this game, but the city expanded greatly beyond this "old town" from the mid 20th century until today. Those newer areas look closer to the regular buildings in the game.

You can have a workaround if you add custom assets and bulldoze W2W buildings repeatedly until you get a custom one you’re satisfied with. But yes, this is a pain in the ass and I totally agree with you, it is also a non-feature for me. No to mention this solution defeats the low requirements idea of keeping W2W linked to maps and is very annoying and time consuming if you want a consistent look.

I love the game too and tunnels are a lot better than I expected, but IMO there are still many basic things that should be improved before W2W, like the menu interface. Right now it is a nightmare to manage assets subscribed if you have more than a few dozens. You want to edit one specific asset having many subscribed items? Arm yourself with patience.

i think there needs to be specific zones in the one game.... like 4 zones - regular low density, regular high density, w2w low density, w2w high density..... so not a european city as such, but you can zone this bit as regular zone, and another part as w2w zone..... just so you can pin point it to specific areas....

I don’t think is a good idea, because, what if you have European, Asian, Middle East, Chinese and Futuristic buildings in a year from now?. Do you really want to have 10+ types of residential zoning (and commerce)?

Wouldn’t be better to be able to create in the game menu personalized Themes and link assets (including whole core sets like Vanilla or European). For example, you could create a pers theme called ´Beach Theme´, with vanilla assets and only some proper custom ones (residential and commerce), another one called ´Medieval´, with mostly custom medieval like buildings and parks for the city core and only a few more modern buildings, and so on.

And then, you assign the pers themes to the map you’re gonna play so it only loads the assets of the themes you want for that map, not all the assets. No need to load beach related custom assets in a map without a beach, so there would be better loading times as a benefit, but you could use them in another map you’re playing without much hassle and lost time due to disabling/enabling assets. No need to load all the skyscrapers you need for a plain map mostly urban high res/com in a heavy mountain based one mostly very lowres with only a few spots of high res/com, in which case you probably don’t need any growable custom high res/com and you can make it with vanilla and a handful of popables for that effect.
