i recently conquered benin in a gc in 1.04 (playing genoa)--as promised there was initially no nationalism in any of the captured territories--i then had a "conversion of heretics" event change the pagan province of accra to catholicism--immediately following i had a nationalism revolt risk, but this time it started at 2% and not 3%--has anyone else seen this?--is this an abnormality or is there some nationalism associated with conversion events (although i don't think i've ever seen it before)?

How angry would you be as a small tribe believing in the big bad gods when some lunatics try to convert you to their stupid religion and thus damage the holy spirits? You got it... :D

Similar Conversion Revolt Risk

I had the same thing happen in my game as well after a conquest of Kongo and the country next to it. I annexed them, no revolt. Converted them, got a 2% revolt risk that seems to be hanging around a bit, just like the nationalism revolt. Perhaps a new feature - I never got that in 1.03 when I was working over the Aztecs and Mayans

I have a question to you guys, recently in my game i England(AI) got similar event in Manhattan, converting it to protestant. But it's culture stayed Lenape! I'm using 1.02 patch, though, so does it happen in 1.04 too, or was it fixed?

What I was lead to believe is that it is a known issue and it is not a bug. It is a random spontaneous conversion to your faith so they are able to keep their culture. They will worship your God but their culture is their own. Really it should be too.

As far as I know only converting by using missionares changes culture too. But I was quite suprised that Brunei (conquered by me) didn't changed its culture from indonesian. Next to Sabah did. Brunei was muslim, Sabah pagan. Evidently being muslim prevented it to happen even if there was far away from Mecca and Europe.
How it works in 1.04? And what about other religions like buddism or hinduism? Missionares convert only religion remaining culture untouched or changes it too?

In Ver 1.4, When you convert a paegan provence, it's culture will change to yours, if a random event changes it, they keep thier culture.

When you capture a paegan provence the nationalism clock starts, I.E. 30 years, 3% - (1% / 10 yrs.) However, as long as it is paegan, it will not suffer any effects from this nationalism. Therefore, if you wait 30 yrs then convert it, you will never have Nationalism in that Provence. If you convert it after 10 yrs you will get what you experianced ie 2% revolt risk.

Nah, both of these issues have been discussed there and are well known to Paradox and others involved in bugfixing. They might get fixed, but neither are considered particularly important.
