Do sub-saharan tech countries get cavalry? I just wanted to make sure if they do or not.
Not in their own tech group but you could recruit from another province/tech group if you seize it.
Do they not get it eventually if they advance in tech enough? Like native americans?
:|Afraid not. Here's a complete list:

Yeh the lack of African Cavalry is a tad weirdWestern Africa atleast employed Cavalry in their armies.
The Game has never been good at Balancing Different Tech armies and their employement anyways... expecialy since you can bring entire armies overseas employing mass tactics with little effort... hopefully the next game will balance these issues somewhat and maybe add in some more environment factors.
It's weird oversight and I assume it's somehow related with game balance. But it's completely unhistorical, for example Oyo Empire's might was based on it's experienced heavy and light cavalry, which formed core of it's army (they even had pure cavalry units which had no infantry attached).
The whole unit list seems to be throw together in a few minutes and never really looked at again (with the exception of the new Turkish group in one of the more recent patches). It's the only thing in EU3 that really needs a full review.
A number of people have suggested and/or modded various things in this area; one that can be modded without too much trouble is to give the East Africans their own tech group with access to cavalry. The problem with the rest of Africa is that the lack of cav had little to do with tech and more with the environment. i.e. it shouldn't really be possible to recruit cavalry there regardless of your tech group and cav should have an extra high attrition rate. You could create a decision to buy a cavalry regiment at high cost (imported horses). OTOH if a sub-saharan tech group country expands outside of Africa and has contact with cavalry-using neighbors they should probably be able to recruit cavalry there.
Pretty much what I said; ideally it should be that certain provinces can't recruit and can't easily support cavalry. That's not something easily modded though.Woodland savannah of Oyo Empire was ideal terrain for cavalry warfare and even in desert Tuaregs with their camels were superior to infantry. Naturally jungle isn't suitable for cavalry, but that should be done with terrain penalties rather than taking away cavalry from those African nations which were famous for their mounted warriors.

See the links I added for more.
Anything that isn't already possible to do by modding is probably not going to happen. Even giving them cavalry is very unlikely since it would require a lot of additional playtesting and balancing which they don't want to take time on. If people had pushed for it back in March, maybe. Best hope is to get this changed for EU4 I think. The difference is that I would just give the whole tech group cavalry units, but I would make them completely useless in jungle by using terrain modifiers. I don't believe that similar system like in EU: Rome which allows building units only in certain provinces is viable at this point, but giving them some sort of cavalry could be possible even in 5.2 if Paradox just wants to do it.

It involved a bunch of displayed texts being cut off. It was fixed in Dec 6. That was the only reason that new beta was released; it had no other changes.Could you give me some more details about Nov 29 beta bug? I've missed reference to it and I was thinking to start a new game with Dec 6 Beta that I thought was in quite good shape..
