I made a nation, started writing events, leaders, monarchs for it. For a time, it worked; I was all the while making new events for it.

At one point, it stopped working. Whenever this nation appears in the game it crashes. So hard, in fact, that I have to re-start the computer.

I only added it in the diplomacy_matrix.csv after it stopped working. I have all shields for it and all the rest. What can be wrong? I don't seem to be able to make it work, now that I've lost it. There don't seem to be any ID conflicts with events, monarchs, generals.

U00. It worked for a time with this tag, I even got around finishing a game with it. Including leaders, monarchs and most of the events. Should I remove the nation from the diplo matrix? When the game searches for tags and file names, is it case sensitive?

In my experience of modding, I've only encountered crashes due to modding (without text message) when I have specificed an owned province without controller, or vice verca, or when I've made some kind of error like adding a seazone as a national province.

What country was it, anyway?

The country is Romania. I've added it into the 1492 ( :p ) scenario and it has seven provinces. It controlls all seven, has cores on another four, (because I want it involved in conflicts with Ottomans, Poland and Hungary/Habsburgs ). All seven provinces are owned by either Turkey (which loses three but I haven't forgotten to remove them), Hungary (who loses two, again without such issue) and Wallachia and Moldova, which dissapear from the map. I've even moved the Turkish unit and the Hungarian one which were within the seven provinces. I can't find any reminescent MOL and WAL tags but I only looked in countries near them. There was a vassalage between Ottomans and Wallachia and Moldova was allied with Poland and Lithuania - not anymore.

Hmmm... There could be something in the diplomacy = { lines.

I guess it does.

Checked. I've looked for all instances of MOL and WAL and destroyed them. I've mentioned before, I cleared a vassalage and a military alliance. If there was a RM between Wallachian and Moldova, it's definitely gone because I destroyed their *.inc files altogether and deleted their inclusion from the scenario's files as well.

So, should I re-edit the diplomacy matrix to what it was? Is the game cAPS-sensitive (but all the files and tags are written properly anyway)?

Anyhow, I had a creation event for the country which worked for a time then it made the game crash. That's how I found out of my problem in the first place.

I have isolated the problem with the monarchs file, but I know they're all written correctly (they USED) to work. I have checked and know for fact that there are NO id conflicts and no time conflicts (there was one time conflict but it worked with it just fine).

Have you added a settlement without controlled and owned it? Check, it will cause CTD too.

Everything else is working. The provinces they have in the 1492 scenario are all how they were intended to be, likewise those they don't have, as is with the armies and technology and merchants. I still haven't done the relations but I'm getting there. Now, unless I apply the monarchs file, the scenario works.

Ay. I'll figure them out in my own time; I can always do like Duke of Wellington and just use two monarch ID's and interchange them (That's what I think he does to get his Khans as he wants them).
