Ok, I see this new thing where I can see what religion and culture my advisors are, but there are no tool-tips or anything for it, so I have no idea what effect this has on the actual game function.

Is it just flavor? Does it affect their efficiency in some way? Are there events related to it? (I'm thinking of the time in CK2 when I hired a Jew to manage the books for me, omg the rest of the court lost their feces about it!)

If you're mamluk goverment advisors sharing culture with ruler will be cheaper to employ and their salary will be lower.

If you want to promote advisors they also need to be of your culture, culture group (99% sure about culture group) or accepted culture.

Plus there are events that are tied to the advisor culture and their status in country etc.
